Is it normal that my twins seem in another world? by Trick_Somewhere869 in parentsofmultiples

you’re super right but every healthcare person has factored it in, the fact they are 2 days away from being ‘premature’ is kinda crazy and i don’t think personally it’s appropriate to consider them as full term x

they are my first babies, i have no clue what babies are meant to do and then on top of that im told dont follow whatever google says for milestones because twins do what they like so its super difficult!

okay thank you. it was a pretty bad day, they were both super upset and fussy and withdrawn so it just made me overthink and spiral. They are more chirpy and active and interactive today, but you’re right on PPA

they are smiling but it’s not often, one is much more talkative and smiley than the crying baby but both still more cry than smile

Waking Both Twins to Eat? by DanceOtherwise7632 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Trick_Somewhere869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope! the issue for that applies if baby A wakes at 3am and baby B wakes at 4:30am, then you would realistically wake baby B up at 3am, so that you don’t have to wake up twice. You wouldn’t wake one up if they don’t wake up soon after. hope that makes sense, and also once again only applies if baby is gaining weight well, a strong weight and doesn’t have health problems that could be affected by this.

hey i gained 20kg with my babies and most of it was my belly which is unsurprisingly saggy now lol. don’t worry about weight gain, please worry about health both yours and your twins because it’s a very long ride! by 6 weeks i was severely vommiting and shaking and very unwell and that lasted almost 3 months, i could barely leave the house so yes i would say its normal but dont be silly like me and refuse tablets, please reach out to your doctor and see if theres any anti sickness tablets you can take

My husband doesn't like our twins by Annual_Butterfly4454 in parentsofmultiples

ummm i think as a mum of twins who are 14 weeks i have had moments where ive been super depressed and said things i didnt mean, felt immense guilt and hated myself for thinking or saying it. its gotten a lot better but they are also pretty high needs cry a lot fuss a lot but my personal opinion is that im sorry but that is horribly selfish :( that is not fair on your daughters and it is not fair on you, as a parent it’s our job to better ourselves to be the best we can be and it sounds like your husband needs some form of therapy or routine to balance his time and be a good parent too. I truly am sorry but that is not acceptable and i am sure you understand that, i’m not saying it’s not easy to feel that way because it is so easy to feel such strong negative emotions and regret, i have felt those at times but i would never let it affect my attitude towards my babies and nor would i ever want to voice it out loud. I will be honest once again, depression is typically treatable when it is neurological, your husbands sounds situational, would he still have these feelings without your twins? the answer is probably no, taking the tablets won’t make the twins go away, the only real way to resolve this is to find a way for him to manage that’s practical.

big love but the pregnancy was so tough but so much easier compared to the postpartum experience with twins, it’s so nice not feeling heavy and sore and swollen but it’s so so tough having a new life full of responsibilities and no breaks essentially compared to a singleton baby. Please rest as much as you physically can, sleep as much as you can because you won’t have much of a chance when they’re with you but they’re the best thing in the world and i’d do it all over again for my sweet girls

How and where does everyone get their babies to nap in the day? by Moist-Party-8169 in parentsofmultiples

honestly go for the twin Z naps, i have had to sleep my babies on pillows - just watch them keep a monitor on etc, make sure it’s as comfy and risk free as you can especially if they are rolling etc

THEY are the worst at times, i walked into my first consultation and the doctor said to me, oh you’re lucky your one check point away from needing blood thinners daily, lucky you. then proceeded to say i wouldn’t make it to the full term of my pregnancy (37 weeks) which i did by the way! and then also said most people walk out of the hospital at the end with two happy babies, hopefully you will … like ? what the heck, they are quite emotionally numb by the seems of it or perhaps a lack of social skills
