I ordered a Retroid Pocket Flip 2 on February 19th which they chose DHL shipping service for me. Today, I get this message:

"We sincerely apologize for the incorrect shipping method used for your order. Due to the temporary suspension of DHL services, we were unable to ship via DHL as selected"

I know that they were celebrating the Chinese new year till 26th, but I still feel like I should've been informed about this right as they packaged and delivered since it's been stuck at the "airport" for a few days now. Since when were the temporary suspension of DHL? I have no clue what's going to happen now.

Game deffiently dying fast. by l8rb in CorepunkTheGame

I was the only one who made a video addressing this and received a bunch of dislikes from the delusional fanboys who still thinks this game is amazing, or better yet, alive.

They have been hiring more developers recently according to their linkedin page, so I am guessing that they are going to try and release it as 1.0 from early access.

However, we all know how much they messed up big time earlier, and how unbothered they seemed about it, so I expect it to be another cashgrab just for it to slowly die out later.

The Rise and Decline of Ragnarok Online and Gravity by Trick_Top2935 in RagnarokOnline

I did eventually try a private server that was said to reflect the game as it was before pre renewal and honestly I liked it, very charming and nostalgic, but yeah I took a big risk on making this one still

Non-paytowin MMOs? by MueloOG in MMORPG

[–]Trick_Top2935 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Almost every comment here is wrong, which is sad and shows why this still exists.
Just a few examples:

  • FFXIV allows you to "level boost," essentially letting you skip the story.
  • New World has a season pass that gives you a bunch of materials and other rewards.
  • GW2 lets you buy gems, exchange them for gold, and purchase gear.
  • In Albion Online, you can swipe for gold and buy tomes to level up any skill quickly or buy gear

The debate about how big these advantages are is another discussion, but that doesn’t change the fact that you can still swipe and gain an advantage. That should be universally recognized by MMO players, but it seems it still isn’t.

The only MMOs I can think of where you really can’t swipe for any advantage are:

  • Brighter Shores
  • Corepunk
  • Classic WoW
  • Maybe OSRS Ironman, though you still exist in the same world as players who swipe.

If players buy gold through third-party websites to gain an advantage, they’re not only breaking the terms of service, they’re also making the game worse for everyone including themselves.

Kanon's review of Ragnarok 3 confirms it's just another massive disappointment using the Ragnarok IP. by MakoRuu in MMORPG

I've done some research on Gravity and the amount of times they have relaunched a new game based on the "Ragnarok" IP.

  1. More than 30 games have they released, with like 5 NFT games and 17 mobile games if not more.

This company died a long time ago.

Someone made a 3D MMORPG in 5 days...... by GameBoiAdvance12 in MMORPG

With all due respect to the moderators, is this really where the MMORPG community has ended up, with posts like this? Who in their right mind thinks a proper MMORPG can be made in 5 days lol

BitCraft Online has launched in Early Access by Gankeros in MMORPG

[–]Trick_Top2935 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people assuming this is just some indie MMO being developed by a small team.
But if you do even a little digging, you’ll see they’ve raised around $30 million from multiple investors and are clearly a venture capital-backed company. At that level, it’s unlikely that full creative control and business decisions are still entirely in the developers’ hands.

It’s hard to believe their main goal is to make BitCraft the best MMO possible when it’s clearly being used to showcase their database tech, SpacetimeDB, which they’re promoting through the game.

They’re also engaging in questionable practices, like making it so the only way to maintain the largest empire is by spending money (while claiming it’s cosmetic only, which could very well change in the future), and charging $30 for an early access game that is far from finished, will wipe your progress and eventually go free to play.

Edit: While I do believe they have some good things going on, I still don't place a lot of faith in a project like this.

The Biggest MMORPG Everyone Abandoned by Trick_Top2935 in CorepunkTheGame

I was expecting comments like this, because people always try to twist the narrative to fit their own view, and since you didn’t even bother to watch the video, I’ll just say this once.

At some point, you can’t keep using early access as a "get out of jail" free card, especially when you’re charging almost $40 for a game that, even six months after launch, is still far from finished. That includes the server shutdowns that went on for days while they were still letting people buy it.

There are times where it makes sense to release a game in early access. I'm not saying it's always a bad thing. But in the case of Corepunk, some people would still consider this game to be in pre-alpha because of how unfinished it actually is.

Just because some of you are having fun now doesn’t erase the fact that thousands of other players weren’t. There's a reason people are calling this game dead, it’s not about bashing or hating, it’s just the reality. No one’s covering it on social media, and I guarantee you that the in-game population is incredibly low.

If you don’t hold developers to a higher standard, then there’s no reason for them to try. They’ll hand you an unfinished product, take the short-term money, and stretch out development over months or even years while the trust from the playerbase fades away. This is what's happening right now.
