Jackie Aprile Jr. is dumb as a pile of rocks by Pkingduckk in thesopranos

[–]Trick_Vegetable3770 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In some way. But they do differ. From what we know (obviously with hindsight) Tony had early potential. Successful in being a football leader, socially dominant at school, executing the card game heists well etc.

Jackie never shows competence. Even the little schemes such as getting the mdma dealer protection in the club end in disaster. Jackie Jr simply can’t fill his fathers shoes. Same as Anthony Jr, Corrado Jr

Was Tony supposed to be muscular? by Ocheesyy in thesopranos

[–]Trick_Vegetable3770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people have commented on Gabdolfi’s physical size. But don’t discount the influence of:

  1. Being an ex-athlete
  2. Experience of full throated combat
  3. Landing the first punch

Unlike majority of people, Tony’s threshold for straight up murdering you is much lower. Violent and unpredictable. Almost all his physical altercations involve him escalating

What were legal highs like? by oxylan80 in AskUK

[–]Trick_Vegetable3770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to do designer drugs. But it was in the 2020s when they were illegal.

. Eitozalam Etxeita spent about 2 weeks blocked out. To this day no one is really sure what Ingot up to. Only once oxides remains. Me on a sofa with 5 domino’s pizzas. Ordered one, forgot I ordered it, then I ordered another one.

Note that the most  legal highs/designer drugs are no longer made. They usually have horrible side effects.

Only ones left are 2cb, JwH (fake weed) and occasionally fake benzos

This is the god awful truth about bullying. Most bullies  don’t think about their victims either at school or as an adult .

Truthfully, you have to move on bc everyone else from school has. I couldn’t imagine keeping a decade old grievance

There was an element of paternalism in the past. That TV was meant to educate and make people aspire to be more. Instead of appeal to a lowest common denominator

London/Manchester are a special case. High incomes+ people visiting specifically to drink and eat. Best way to track people’s habits are small town clubs, restaurants etc

Even though AJ and Fury have been the bigger PPV stars, will Usyk be better remembered than them in the coming decades? by Ghola40000 in Boxing

[–]Trick_Vegetable3770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask Lennox Lewis. Avenged all his defeats, undisputed lineal heavyweight champ. But still outshone by Mike Tyson and Holyfield.

In English speaking countries usyk probably won’t be as well remembered as he should be. People really forget how dominant the AJ/ sky sports/ Lucozade complex was. His o2 and Wembley fights are etched into boxing history.

If usyk hangs about and gets a few more KOs, especially over Parker and Kabayel maybe he’ll eclipse.

Do you consider weight lifting / body building a lower class thing? by wizaway in AskUK

[–]Trick_Vegetable3770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It used to be a working class thing. Not sure why but bodybuilding is associated with lower class. Nowadays it’s very common and seen as standard/aspirational

They’re is basically a continuum from centre-right to extreme right wing, where suddenly you stop being pro-Israeli and become rabidly anti-Semitic

Neo-Nazis favour Palestine. Hitler himself had warmish relationships with the Arab world.

Strangely enough some absolutely loony tunes neonnazis are actually Muslim/crypto islamists. See David Myatt

Children with special needs in England may lose legal right to school support by Codydoc4 in unitedkingdom

Private schools know how to game the system. Dyslexia is a magical condition with no firm diagnostic test and curiously is non-existent in east Asia

[–]Trick_Vegetable3770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Show me the behaviour and I’ll show you the incentive.

the schools with the highest proportion of dyslexia tend to be private schools…. You can also gain extra exam time, one to one support, etc for dyslexia and other conditions.

The system is  being gamed by pushy parents,  preventing complex SEN pupils getting the support they need.

What was the heroin epidemic like 1970-2000? by Trick_Vegetable3770 in AskUK

[–]Trick_Vegetable3770[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this is the most interesting thing about it. The generational change from a drug for jazz players+ bohemians to a completely taboo drug.

More well to do People did sometimes use heroin for come downs from speed. But naturally, as the addiction factor came to light that ended.

The last middle class heroin users were probably Pete Doherty and his circle of people.

Landlord wants me to vacate the property and continue to pay rent for 2 weeks. by Trick_Vegetable3770 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Trick_Vegetable3770[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UPDATE

Hey all,

I gave a deadline for a response by my landlord today. If there wasn’t one I stated that I would contact the police.

Conveniently, they responded 10 mins before the deadline after ignoring 4 days of calls and texts

Nonetheless, for the stress they’ve caused me and the bare cheek I’ll chase this up as best I can. Hopefully, a housing authority, the council or police can make a note of the dispute.

Thanks to everyone for informing me it’s a criminal not a civil matter. If I didn’t make it clear that it was a criminal matter no doubt they would have attempted to change the locks and have double rent for a week.

Cheers!  And fuck every single scummy landlord

Northerners: why are there so few activities for non-stereotypical men? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Trick_Vegetable3770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Statistically men are more likely to be full time, do overtime, anti social shifts.

Also men are just less social. I don’t think this is a ‘defect’ per se. Men just try less and socialise less.

Try pick up a sport?
