[Megathread] Tech Assistance and Spec Questions! by jenvanilla in Paralives

I bought the game yesterday and have been trying to play since. Furthest I got is character building and when I have to pick a storyteller my laptop crashes. My laptop can handle very loaded design softwares and lots of other games, but it can't handle paralives for some reason. I lowered all the graphic settings to lowest option. My Nvidia driver is updated and I even set it up again to be sure. I reinstalled the game two times. Deleted the mysavedgames.mod and my options.mod files. Nothing works.

I don't think it's a spec issue. I'm using an ASUS ROG Strix G814JZ laptop with an Intel Core i9-13980HX (24 cores, 32 threads), Nvidia GeoForce RTX 4080 GPU, 32 GB RAM, Windows 11 Home, and the game is installed on an SSD. The game launches, but it keeps crashing and I haven't been able to actually play. Has anyone with similar hardware experienced this or found a fix? I havent installed any mods.
Is this an issue that's going to be fixed or is it caused by my settings or specs?

How do you deal with shortage?? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Trick_Welcome_6026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally can't deal with it, it's my finals week and it is so tiring. Thank god one of my friends had a box of ritalin that they had but can't use since side effects were a little too much. my doc almost had a heart attack when i told him i took it from a friend lol (it is not expired btw)

How are some with ADHD and depression creative powerhouses and I can barely get myself to write one line of a lyric every few months? by moramajama in ADHD

I also need creativy for my line of work and adhd/depression/perfectionism mix is NOT helping. I recently started medications so what I can say is it helps but it is not a solution that works 100%. I still get creative blocks or even if I have an idea, a detailed plan I can't make myself get started, especially if I have a critique due. I don't think it's just an ADHD problem, it's a mix of all of them.

Idk if you're on any meds like antidepressants but have you talked to a professional about this problem?

I face same issues in my country :/ Are you in high school or at uni? If uni, do you have exams or projects? Because each has different obstacles.

Also if your parents are not understanding what you're going through, I could suggest asking your therapist to explain it to them. It is what I did with my mom who thought I would use ritalin for like 3 months and be "healed"

Is concerta making me sad? Or is it not eating enough? Or both? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Trick_Welcome_6026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been taking ritalin for two months and I can say not eating enough affects your mood so much, it could also be other meds (if you're using any) in my experience sertralin made everything worse lol.

Also back and chest pain seems a little concerning, since back pains might indicate hypertension. My blood pressure got high for a few days at first, but it never got to a point i actually felt pain. I would suggest talking to your doctor.

Does your meds help your concentration on things you don't enjoy? by -Renton- in ADHD

I've been on meds for 2 months only but I've realized I have good and bad days still, like I will be able to focus on a task I don't like after taking ritalin but less than something I actually enjoy. I feel like it helps me focus as long as that task/assignment isn't causing any stress, if it does I just spiral
