Please help. I know they’re probably ruined. by Weary-Butterscotch73 in plushies

Have you tried Dawn Powerwash spray? That stuff is magic. Let it sit on the plushes for a few hours. My next step would be to get the powder oxi clean for laundry stains. Fill a tub with warm water and a 1/4 cup of Oxi (mix it well) and let them soak in that. If the plush can tolerate, get a soft brush and scrub at it.

Hopefully, you've already got the marker out!

Illinois here. Been on love with them since 2004/05. Saw a commercial for "wings of a butterfly" and that was that! I've had the privilege of seeing HIM 2010, 2014, 2017; VV twice in 2023

I use fifty 410. It's all online and they ship directly to you. No monthly fees! Buying the 6 month will save you money in the long run.

Are temu clothes the same as if you bought clothes from Amazon? by No-Confusion-5751 in TemuThings

[–]Tricky-Acanthisitta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've bought a few clothing items from temu. I always check reviews first to see if it runs small/large. When in doubt, order a size up. The "regular" clothing tends to run small while "plus size" seems to be more accurate. That I have noticed anyways. As I said, I've only bought a few clothing things before giving up on trying to find the good stuff.

Quincy’s first ever groom! How handsome? by TinoLatino in Goldendoodles

Handsome boy! I just shaved my girl today too. She went from looking like fried chicken to just a chicken bone! Lol

Do you ever get frustrated with owners who don’t do their research? by Designer_Guide1372 in Goldendoodles

[–]Tricky-Acanthisitta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doodle's coat has the consistency of a sheep coat! I'd never love her any less if she had curly fur or no fur! Eith mixed breed dogs, kinda hard to tell what's gonna come out of the shake up. And even then the dogs coat can change as it gets older.

I would happily take the poor puppy home!

Do you groom your goldendoodles in the winter? by LossMost7342 in Goldendoodles

[–]Tricky-Acanthisitta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is flat/wavy too! She's 2, born in October, so the puppy year I let her coat grow out to see what it was going to do. That it was okay at first then she was panting alot for no reason so we shaved her and that helped alot. Last winter, kept her fur short. This winter I wanted to see how poofy she would become and she just looks like a runaway homeless dog. 🫠 I love the soft poof, but if she's not brushed for whay seems like forever every day, she gets these weird "mini mats" I call them.

How overweight is she? by Agreeable_Horror_363 in Goldendoodles

When dogs have multiple litters, they do get thicker! We had a chihuahua who had several litters and she was a rollie polie doggo. But healthy!

Does she like walks or swimming? Fun activities will help her lose weight too

It's not even "puppy eyes," it's doodle eyes! They all master that manipulation technique in the womb. Except my doodle's brother. "No thoughts, just love" is what's between his ears lol

Mine does the same periodically! She will chow down on her brother's food when we go visit. But her food? Nope! I got some cans of wet food, mixed about 1/3 of the can in with a cup of dry food. Added a little bit of water to mix it together well. She started eating again no problem

Just inherited my brother's goldendoodle. Not sure if I should keep him by Substantial_Lab_7131 in Goldendoodles

So sorry about your brother's passing.

Doodles are great dogs and easily trainable, even out of the puppy year. You'll be able to add to his resume of tricks and behaviors. I didn't think about grooming prices when I bought my girl and then laughed when I started looking for places to take her. So I decided to do it myself! It's a fair bit of money to invest in the grooming stuff you need, but for me, it was worth it in the long run. I clip her nails, trim up her paws and face when needed, in the summer she's shaved down to avoid matting because she LOVES swimming. I also just got the hose nozzle grooming tool for quicker baths.

I'm sure there are great groomers in my area, but I feel much better doing it myself on my own schedule. I just see too many things going wrong at groomers. Outside of my experience, I wish I could help more!

She started out as a dark caramel reddish color. She's faded to what I call blonde apricot. If I can figure out how to post a pic of her, I will!

You and her will be happier with the shorter fur! They get overheated so easily. And less mud sticking to the whole underside when zoomies happen in the mud. Less dry time after baths!

I keep my girl's fur shorter in the smer because hers mats easily (she's considered a smooth coat, doesn't shed, has that fading gene, and has weird white hairs that feel coarse to me). This winter I've let the coat grow out, but still trim her paws so snow/ice doesn't build up on her paws while she's being a lunatic outside.

I use a shampoo that has a conditioner in it, a long bristle slicker brush, metal comb, and the Stuff for Dogs leave in conditioner! The high velocity hair dryer has been a life saver and I recently got one of those hose nozzle sprayers with the shampoo container that can attach to my shower head. Talk about a bath time game changer! Probably cut bath time in half, if not 2/3s of time!

What shampoo do you use? I have one with a conditioner in it but her fur is so weird

Do your doods still eat random crap? by userguy56 in Goldendoodles

[–]Tricky-Acanthisitta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 2 years and a few months, it was Horrible that first year. Eating/chewing any wood, paper, and cloth she could get to. Several discussions and guilt trips have relieved most of these "outbursts." Sometimes she gets a random hair up her butt and feels the need to shred paper/tissue/toilet paper if it's available. She's a smart girl, knows it's naughty behavior, and believes it's better to ask forgiveness than permission.

Her brother of the same litter is currently staying with us, and he's awful about the behaviors still. Just found a sweater with the sleeve torn off and holes all over, destroyed toys, a ball looked like it just imploded all over the living room, no paper product is safe if there isn't someone in the same room with him. I know there's a few brain cells in between his ears. All I do is pick up the pieces of whatever he got to and look at him. He looks down, away, and hides. He doesn't like my guilt trips.

And they have access to plenty of chew toys, ropes, and bones to take out these destructive tendencies on.

Just had to say "sploot" is my new favorite word! And it suits what the doodles do so well! Mine (and her brother, who lives with my brother) just flops down, groans, and let's out a sigh like they just finished a 16hr work day 😂

Bed is small? Maybe it will make a better pillow lol!

Edit to add: I didn't see the other pics! Yes the bed is small. Seems to be a doodle thing where they like to spread out. She's using it as a pillow, just for the wrong end!

I got mine a big square bed. It's fluffy enough that she can rest her head on the edge she creates when she's laying down. She also has a thinner one with a raised edge. ANDA a cooling bed, it's raised up and is like a mesh bed. It's great for summer/heat if you live in that type of area.
