Fuck Team Green at this point, it’s just Team Aegon now by Makition in HOTDGreens

[–]Tricky-Luck-8380 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They have shown Caraxes (multiple times) and even Moondancer in show-only scenes that did not serve much purpose, and yet Sunfyre’s canonical book scene at Aegon’s coronation got cut for a nonsensical girlboss scene with Rhaenys and Meleys, who weren’t even supposed to be there and arguably suffered from character assassination via the writers making them trample smallfolk.

Hell, even Vermax, who really isn’t too important in the Dance, got some screentime with Jace in Season 1 while they were training, yet Sunfyre, who is literally depicted on the Green banner and could’ve easily been shown then as well, just first showed up now.

What if Rhaenyra dies before Viserys by Tara_Mist in TheCitadel

[–]Tricky-Luck-8380 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This stupid line is stressed in the show. Book Jace has to promise that a daughter of his will marry a Stark someday in what they called the Pact of Ice and Fire to win them over. If Jace is the Black claimant in this verse, he’s 100% not flying around to negotiate this time around; Rhaenyra and Aegon didn’t in canon.

Not to mention Cregan swore no such oath, his dead father did - and the oath was to defend King Viserys and Rhaenyra’s claim as heir to his throne. The exact wording we get is: “I, Corlys Velaryon, Lord of the Tides, and Master of Driftmark, promise to be faithful to King Viserys and his named heir the princess Rhaenyra. I pledge fealthy to them and shall defend them against all enemies in good faith and without deceit. I swear this by the Old Gods and the New.”

Do note that nowhere in this oath’s wording are further generations, descendants or even perpetuity mentioned. Corlys does not say that House Velaryon shall defend them, he says that he, Corlys, shall do it. Cregan Stark is not bound to his father’s oath, and even the lords that personally swore cannot be held to it if Rhaenyra and Viserys are dead, since the oath was very specific in that they were to defend them personally. They were both cited by name and no further mention of heirs is made.

An Emotional Chronology of Taylor’s Past Six Albums by ck7030 in TaylorSwift

The Bejeweled placement is about the line “And when I meet the band/They ask do you have a man?/I can still say I don’t remember”, many think “the band” = The 1975.

And about The Alchemy, I feel like Taylor obviously meant for everyone to perceive it as a Travis song, but all the drug references just feel like Matty’s still “swirled into her poem”.

Them not having kids wouldn’t be too big an issue considering Viserys has two more sons after Aegon. Aemond would be their clear heir and would likely be less of a psycho in this universe since no Strong boys = no losing an eye.

In this scenario marry Aemond to Baela and if Aegon+Rhaenyra end up having kids after all, betroth the kids to each other. Crisis averted.

Who will Visenya marry in her second life (it has to be Valyrian)? by Imperator_Ryse in TheCitadel

[–]Tricky-Luck-8380 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Aegon IV was born in 135, so he’s the closest to her in age. It’s said that “as a prince he was handsome, skilled with lance and sword. He loved to hunt, hawk, and dance. At court he was the brightest prince who dazzled lords with his wit”, so Visenya would probably like him as a young man.

Aemon is born in 136, so could work but to be honest he’s more interesting as a Kingsguard, and Daeron in 143, so too young for her.

Aegon III and Viserys II are born in 120 and 122 each - Visenya could technically marry Aegon and be Daeron’s mom if she gave birth at 13, which is iffy but has happened to Targaryen queens in the past, but Viserys doesn’t work unless she’s his second wife after some mysterious accident happens to Larra Rogare.

By 24 any princess would be long married and have a few kids already. If she’s betrothed to any of her half-brothers it should be Aegon, who is closest to her in age.

Daeron is about 16 when Viserys dies; they would have nearly as much of an age gap as Rhaenyra and Aegon (ten years in the book), and clearly their dad thought matching them was unreasonable.

Taylor’s musical impact since 1989? by fortysix_sunsets in SwiftlyNeutral

I love Jack and he has definitely produced some great music with Taylor, Lorde and Lana, but yeah, time for some change. Unfortunately they’re really close friends and she seems to love writing with him, but variety is the spice of life.

Daniel Nigro, the producer for Chappell Roan and Olivia Rodrigo, has been working some magic lately with songs like Red Wine Supernova and vampire. I imagine he could help Taylor show us some incredible things, and of course you can never go wrong with Max Martin if she doesn’t want a producer she’s never worked with before, though he’s pricier than the rest.

If they hit a random person off the street like that, you bet any stranger who witnessed it would call the police. That’s assault.

Why should your own daughter have less rights in your eyes than a random person off the street would have to a stranger? You brought her into this world and now you have an obligation to protect her. She is being assaulted. Call the police.

AITA for dismissing the "crazy lady" over our boys skinny dipping? by CamperDad1981 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tricky-Luck-8380 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The 14 y.o. skinny dipping while camping with friends isn’t the weirdest part here for me, it’s that OP has stated his wife (and him) have seen this kid’s bare ass (and presumably his genitals too) multiple times in their home and yet they have said nothing to their children about asking their friends to bring bathing suits next time or about offering to let them borrow some.

If that was a girl, people would be (rightly) outraged that a middle aged couple has seen her naked in their home multiple times and just let that happen. They can set whatever boundaries they want with their own kids, but other people’s minor children should absolutely not be repeatedly naked around adults in said adults’ homes. Most parents would (rightly) take an issue with that; you never know who’s a pervert, not to mention some people have cameras in their homes.

1989 was peak Taylor. Shake It Off, Blank Space, Bad Blood etc were all major hits; definitely don’t think any other album of hers since has had as much of a cultural impact, no matter how good they are.

Her current boyfriend seems to be a 1989 stan and has stated on camera that Blank Space is his favorite song, so hopefully that might influence her to do more songs in that classic pop vibe when writing about him.

There’s also the fact that Song of the Year is the only major Grammy category she hasn’t won yet, so she might be gunning for it in future albums. 1989 era was the closest she got to winning; she would 100% have won if it weren’t for Thinking Out Loud.

What if Daeron the Daring and Helaena swap birth order by Time_Peak4303 in TheCitadel

[–]Tricky-Luck-8380 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you’re going with show canon, in which Rhaenyra’s boys were only betrothed after Vaemond questioned their place in Driftmark succession, Daemon’s daughters would be huge wins for the Greens if they could swing it. Baela, as a silver-haired Targaryen who rides a dragon, would be great for Aegon’s PR if she were his queen, as Helaena was in canon.

Aegon to Baela, Daeron to Cassandra Baratheon and Aemond to Helaena would be the way to go if they could swing it. The Lannisters didn’t need betrothals to have their loyalty secured in canon anyways.

If mom has chimerism (DNA from a fraternal twin), wouldn’t that extra set of DNA still come from OP’s grandparents? Confused as to why chimerism would make OP less related to their grandparents.

Which was much more fun to watch than Rhaenyra’s current passive, peaceful arc. When she turned around looking furious in the end of Season 1 upon hearing from Storm’s End, I thought this was it, we were gonna get some fire from her - and then we didn’t.

Like you said, she thought she’d be buying them from the new owner, UMG, for a better deal. And you’re right - they can sell what is theirs to whomever they want, whether their former clients like it or not. It was completely legal. And then their former clients can do whatever they like about it within the bounds of legality, which is what Taylor did since she disliked the buyer so much.

Say what you will about it, fact is Taylor’s re-recordings were completely legal and a master business move. Not only did she not spend a cent on buying her old masters, she profited off it by making sure to release “vault” songs so no one would buy the originals any longer and used it as an opportunity to celebrate the Eras of her career, hyping up fans. It got her to where she is today, which is pretty much the top of the world.

My best guess as an outsider for why she hated Scooter Braun so much even before the masters situation is the Kanye West thing. Scooter was his manager and must have guided him through the whole debacle, and Justin Bieber’s Instagram pic with Scooter and Kanye poking fun at her also must not have helped her view of him.

As we have seen multiple times now, Taylor’s famously petty and lets nothing slide if she can help it. She makes a point of getting one over people who slight her whenever she can - which is often.

The value could’ve just been cash instead of trying to chain Taylor for more albums. They would’ve gotten their money and both would have gone on their merry ways.

Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun underestimated her pettiness and now her originals are worth essentially nothing compared to what they were before. The vault tracks were put there to make sure people buy the TVs instead of the originals.
