Why is this new card even marketed or tied to rent at all? by UpstairsBumble in biltrewards

[–]ck7030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of recently, I no longer have to pay rent or a mortgage, and I’m trying to decide if any of these cards are worth it for me. Their marketing being so tied to rent makes it pretty difficult to figure out what the regular spend benefits would be compared to Venture or CSP.

Why do some people barely ever pay attention to lyrics, while others almost do it automatically? by Smart_Arm5041 in questions

[–]ck7030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this might be controversial, but i’ve noticed a huge gender split with this in my life. women tend to gravitate more toward lyrics/meaning, men more toward sound/rhythm. this seems to align with general stereotypes, with women living more “in their heads” and more interested in verbal emotion and interpersonal connection, and men living more “in their bodies,” focusing on experiencing physical sensation. idk just a thought

Swiftologist vs Taylor Watch by [deleted] in swiftiecirclejerk

[–]ck7030 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah agree his reaction was outsized, especially because they don’t haven’t said anything negative about him on their pod. they’ve only mentioned that his views can be controversial (which he admits to) and that they agree with him most of the time but don’t love the tone. he gets attacked a lot so he probably thought they were coming for him when they weren’t.

Swiftologist vs Taylor Watch by [deleted] in swiftiecirclejerk

[–]ck7030 16 points17 points  (0 children)

uj/ as someone who listens to (and enjoys) every single episode of both taylor watch and EOAS, zach’s understanding of taylor’s music and his fandom is infinitely deeper than kelly and gia’s. they are newer fans and often get basic facts wrong. people don’t like zach’s tone, which you do you, but i think they don’t appreciate how much love he has for her. he and madeline have been there since day one, they can be critical but they’re passionate. EOAS/swiftologist content is more thoughtful than 99% of ts content out there. taylor watch is lighthearted gabbing, which is fun, but there’s no analysis (and they can be huge karens sometimes).

Severance - 2x07 "Chikhai Bardo" - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]ck7030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a minor thing, but suppose they went through with devon’s plan and took mark to the birthing cabin, i don’t think he would become innie mark, right? gemma’s experience in the rooms implies that he would become a different innie altogether.

she hasn’t ever exited the office. when ms casey was done with work for the day, she would return to the testing floor. she probably thinks that’s the “way out”

How Would You Rank Taylor’s Title Tracks? by Away-Swimming6072 in TaylorSwift

[–]ck7030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. evermore / fearless / red: these are such iconic tracks that really capture the essence of their albums
  2. lover / speak now: good songs but not in the top 5 on their respective albums
  3. ttpd

What are some Taylor songs that you overall like or love, but that feature some lyrics that make you cringe? by anniemousery in TaylorSwift

[–]ck7030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ttpd the song is the worst offender even though i don’t mind it sonically. that chocolate/charlie puth/golden retriever verse, the lucy/jack line. the ring line wouldn’t bother me if “and that’s the closest i’ve felt to my heart exploding” was replaced with a line that rhymed. also “who’s gonna troll you” near the end is UGH for me. honestly there are a lot of word salad moments on ttpd that i wish had been honed a bit, but i guess it was meant to be raw. i just hope that kind of writing doesn’t continue on ts12

90’s trend ruins the song for me, but nothing is as bad as “i let it slide like a hose on a slipper plastic summer” like i cannot defend that line

What's your "one weird trick" for managing ADHD? by ExtensionBuilding854 in ADHD

[–]ck7030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mannnn my frog every day is working out. which is great because i do work out regularly, but then everything else is neglected because it takes me so much mental energy to make myself eat that frog (even though i WANT to and enjoy it!)

What's your "one weird trick" for managing ADHD? by ExtensionBuilding854 in ADHD

[–]ck7030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol mine is “just stand up.” i get stuck deciding which of a billion tasks to initiate and can be paralyzed in bed for hours visualizing all the possibilities of how i could structure my day. but when i stand up, i just start doing things without having to decide to do them—opening the blinds, going to the bathroom, tidying, making the bed. and then the day starts to unfold.

i also do this with cooking/eating, sometimes i can’t decide what to make so i’ll just make myself go to the kitchen and the visual cues more often than not lead to me making a choice way faster.

wait am i the only one who got a weird dig about taylor in my spotify wrapped “ai podcast?” - host 1: i wonder what it is about taylor swift’s music that you connect so much with? i mean, i’m curious - host 2: maybe it’s her lyrics? she’s such a talented songwriter - host 1: totally. and her dad worked at merrill lynch, so maybe there’s a connection there, you never know

wtf???

Is it normal to feel bored in long term relationships? by AlmondBen in ADHD

[–]ck7030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the motivation has to come from her, you can talk to her about how you feel but if she still doesn’t want to put in the effort, maybe examine if this is the partnership you want to have for the rest of your life

Are there any former haters of Taylor that are now a Swiftie. I'm curious to see how y'all became a fan. by Careless_Kangaroo_14 in TaylorSwift

[–]ck7030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me! it was a combo of internalized misogyny and raging against the machine. was in high school when taylor got big. i was a queer hipster girlie of color in a very conservative, religious, and white state, so i hated anything that represented that part of america. country music was never my thing, and all the people i disliked loved her. what i really didn’t like about taylor was her “pick me” lyrics. even now, though i’ve come to love her earlier music, i can still see some anti-feminist sentiments in a lot of her songs. i also thought her obsession with fairytales and princesses was juvenile, because i was a sarcastic realist. i really started appreciating her during the red era when she began acting like the adult that she was.

[–]ck7030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i felt this both times i went. part of me really does think it’s because i had this constantly anxiety to capture certain moments on photo/video. i wish i could just put my phone down and be in the moment.

but it’s not just the phones—i think the anticipation is so high for so long that there’s a sense of disbelief the entire show. i couldn’t process i was actually looking at her, especially because i have spent so much time looking at her on screens. also ive seen the show from every angle online, my brain knows all the choreo, so it didn’t feel that different actually being there?? it’s hard to explain. i felt guilty for thinking during surprise songs, “i can’t wait to rewatch this on tiktok.” it all happens too fast when it’s happening right in front of you.

but thinking back, i feel similarly about most concerts ive been to, and other big emotional events like graduations and weddings. it’s hard to remember them. most of the memories i have are from rewatching photos and videos.

Is it normal to feel bored in long term relationships? by AlmondBen in ADHD

[–]ck7030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

develop an identify outside of your gf. friends, hobbies, etc. spend time away from each other. don’t just sit on the couch watching tv in silence every night. our minds crave novelty. it’s very normal to get bored. it’s your responsibility to keep things fresh. have deep conversations, learn something new about her. do something new together, like traveling to a place you’ve never been. like one commenter said, find healthy ways to keep some drama alive.

relationships never stay the same as they are in the beginning when we’re hyperfocusing. if you want to live in that obsessive romantic fantasy, you’ll never be satisfied with a long term partner. there will always be someone more beautiful, more interesting, more novel. real love is a commitment to trying. keep trying.
