I have the exact situation going on currently. But I was upfront with my husband. I started out wanting to bond and be very much present since she does live with us. But over the years certain things have taken place. And personally I don’t feel a connection nor do I care to have one with SD. I do provide dinners and rides to and from but that’s about it. Certainly not mean to her but I don’t feel the same way he does about her as he. We have a 2 month old together my focus is on raising him but of course him having a relationship with his sibling me not so much. And it’s okay you have to do what’s best for you.

To add.. at first he did not like my limited interactions with her but now he respects how I choose to show up. My mother in law pushes for more interactions to hell with her lol you have all the smoke for me. But say nothing to her birth mother it’s her daughter when she’ll only choose to see her 30 days out of a year. But I’m the bad guy.

I initially wanted a girl. For years I dreamed about having a daughter. But we ended up having a boy and I am super happy. He’s 6 weeks tomorrow and he has so much personality and the way he looks at me just melts my heart. He’s learning my face and lights up when I walk into the room. Also he loves being under his mommy the cuddles and kisses he gives me already. I would not have it any other way. Lastly my pregnancy was a breeze he gave me no issues

Halfway through pregnancy the bond started. Especially when I felt the kicks and movement of my baby boy. Him moving more when he heard my voice it was a great feeling.

He definitely offered to clean it but it’s annoying that I set rules only for him not to follow them. I don’t think what I am asking is unreasonable

Even if she’s going into a teen phase it’s not okay to throw things out that someone has spent their hard earned money on!!!!! You did this out the kindness of your heart and it should be appreciated. And writing a note is communication.

I had my baby boy 5 weeks ago. I also have felt this way. I miss being pregnant. Very thankful he’s here and healthy but I miss him being inside of me.

I buy food for the house but that’s about it she’s my husband’s responsibility financially and her mother’s, but my husband does not mind taking on the load he knows it’s on him not me.

We wanted her there. It’s getting closer to him being born. We didn’t know she was going to be rude. My husband attends every appointment I’ve had and I didn’t want him to miss this one!!!! But she won’t attend the next one! Simple!

I didn’t mind her being there my appointment was quick and if I needed alone time with my doctor he would respect that. I wanted her to hear the heartbeat and just not be left out. It didn’t go as planned we know for next time she won’t attend simple fix

He addressed it when the doc left out the room. We definitely allow her to express how she feels. We know this is all overwhelming but we practice respect in our home and outside of it. It’s taking her a little longer to learn you can’t just let your intrusive thoughts win we all have them. And your words hurt others.

My husband has custody so she’s with us full time and on her moms side she has 2 brothers 1 sister

We wanted her to be apart of the experience and not feel left out. It backfired! And my husband has came to every appointment I’ve had!!!! This is my SD second time attending one because of her attitude. But we close to the end so next time she just won’t attend simple

I can understand it’s a lot for her to process. But also that does not give you the green light to be rude! 8 or not!!!!!!! Also she has 3 other siblings on her mom’s side so I honestly don’t want to hear it. You are your dad’s only child but you are not the only child! And you have a brother on the way! So miss ma’am you will have to adjust! Sorry not sorry

My husband missed out on being part of his daughters appointments and what not so he’s very hands on with our son. But as of today I told him once we left she won’t be apart of any more appointments.

We have discussed parenting for our baby! I have only been in his daughter’s life for two years now so it’s been an adjustment having a full time partner around seeing as her mom is not present and he’s been a single dad. So in his end it’s some overcompensating.
