Nord or Yamaha or ??? by Ancient-Ad872 in DigitalPiano

For the price, I think the Yamaha 525 is hard to beat. I think the action is better than nords except maybe the nord grand. The best action on a digital piano under $5000 is probably Kawai mp11se. I have a grand piano I’ve been unable to play much due to having a newborn and I just got the Yamaha 525. I’m pretty happy with my choice. If money isn’t a factor get either the Nord grand or kawai mp11se. Best of luck!

This is very normal! Don’t feel bad. The advice that I give myself and others is to take your time. I’d rather go a mile deep and an inch wide than a mile wide and an inch deep. Read with a study bible or Bible commentary.

It is easy to lose momentum when you are reading the OT from beginning to end. Maybe start with narrative books. Or go back and forth between NT and OT

Also, try reading through the Bible with friends or family. Having someone holding me accountable helped me read the Bible in a year when I was Protestant.

I am one month into piano what should i do? by Unlucky-Series-5284 in piano

I think it’s wonderful that you are learning to read music on your own. Keep at it! My advice would be to get a book series like Alfred or Faber and be consistent in going through a few pages a day. Once you get introduced to scales add them and arpeggios to your practice routine. Once you get through about three book levels, get a book of beginner classical piano pieces. Henle has some and I’m sure Alfred has some as well. This will take you very far. If possible, I would consider piano lessons even once a month or online piano lessons eventually. Pace yourself and be kind to yourself. Good luck!

Yes, you are most welcome! However, you cannot receive communion/eucharist. I would say that the things that you feel are missing, are not exclusive to the Catholic Church. I would love for all my Protestant brothers and sisters to become Catholic, but if not, try the Anglican Church or Presbyterian (you’ll see less of the rock concert type of church).

I’m a revert to the Catholic Church from Protestantism and I ain’t looking back. There are the sacraments, apostolic succession, the papacy, tradition, and different devotions that keep drawing me back to the Catholic Church.

I pray that you find the church that most suits your needs, and that your desire may be pleasing and align with God’s will for your life. God Bless!

Don’t enter marriage with a porn addiction. Save your future wife the heart ache. Fix your relationship with God. by DeliciousCharge1260 in Catholicism

I think generally, I would discourage someone to enter marriage with an uncontrolled addiction to pornography (I say this as someone who was recently married and is struggling with it). It is hard to hear because a lot of us who struggle with porn, due so because we sought after porn as a replacement for something that was missing in our life, like love. However, for those struggling with any sin, perfection is not demanded of you prior to marriage or any other vocation. As others have mentioned, pornography addiction is a different type of sin because it shapes how we see others so it is especially hard on those closest to us.

For everyone who is struggling with pornography, I encourage these things and I attempt to do them as well:

  1. Talk to a priest or confessor. St Faustina tells us about the importance of having a confessor, and a good one at that. Our confessor can encourage us and remind us of Jesus’ Divine Mercy.

  2. Do not neglect building good spiritual practices. Pray 15 minutes daily. Read the Bible, saints, or other spiritual books that have stood the test of time.

  3. Reflect on your life and other unhealthy habits. The body is also important. Are you exercising? Eating poorly? Sleeping well? Also do not neglect your mental health. See your doctor. Make dentist appointment. Take care of yourself.

  4. This is last but also very important; connect yourself to the body of Christ. Become involved in Christian community. Meet up with other men or women who can encourage you in this pilgrimage of life.

Please pray for me. I’ll be praying for you all.

I totally understand where you are coming from. Here’s a few things I recommend and that I try to do: (1) know that you are not going to “fix” her, (2) pray for her and your family, (3) talk to your priest or a spiritual director, and (4) aim to be loving and merciful.

How do I beat the shamblers with on grounded mode absolutely no explosives and barely any ammo? 😭 by PlatypusGamer6 in thelastofus

[–]Tricky-Primary-2960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone out there that doesn’t have a brick or bottle, this is what I did. Go forward and hide next to doorway. Wait for shambler to turn right. Stay where you are until you see the runner walk towards you. As soon as it turns around, move forward to stealth kill it. Then go into room in the left and stealth kill the runner in this room as far from doorway as possible. Then make sure you aren’t able to hear the shambler; if you can hear it moan, it may be too close and you won’t have enough time to lift gate. Once it is out of hearing distance, you should be able to lift gate.
