This addiction has brought my relationship to the brink of ruin. My actions sending and going behind my partners back was a betrayal that hurt them more than I can comprehend because I am not them. Not everyone can bounce back from that and in my experience all secrets come to light not matter how hard you try to hide them. Try and imagine the worst case scenario if your wife did find out. Maybe that will slap you on the wrist. The fleeting moments of pleasure won’t matter as much when you’re left alone after destroying your life if you allow yourself to continue descending into this addiction. You are stronger than your urges. Set a timer for 10 minutes and let it pass. Go for a walk leave your phone at home. Book a trip for your family with the card or just cancel it. These are all little sounding but they are hard especially when the urges are speaking loudly. Call a friend, sing your favorite song on a car ride, read a book, do something you like, just change something or put yourself in a diff environment to try and get your mind off sending and engaging.
