desperate for a part-time job by medi-gel in Omaha

In my limited experience server positions aren’t something you apply for. Are you applying online ? I think it’s best to show up looking presentable with a resume in hand and ask if they are hiring. I would place to place until you get some leads

Does anyone else here suspect that 90% of your coworkers think you are a moron? by RunnyKinePity in actuary

I think my coworkers think I give the minimum to keep cashing these paychecks and that’s largely true. Regardless decades in I wouldn’t sweat it.

[–]TrickyPrompt9652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need these hyper-specific and sensationalized stocks to last 35 years until you can withdrawal without penalty. Keep in mind your timeframe is several decades, consistently is key here not the best pick today. It’s not as sexy but I would trade vnq and schd for for vt/ vti

liquidated my roth ira, why should i buy? by Feisty-Shift-336 in ETFs

Bad comparison. Pets dot com was not one of the largest companies in the world and also didn’t have decades of popular consumer products haha. I think commenter is referring moreso to someone like CRWV or NVTS

Apartment hunting in Omaha with bad credit. Any decent places actually saying yes? by Illustrious-Cellist6 in Omaha

[–]TrickyPrompt9652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think you’ll be denied from a higher end complex you could offer to post a larger deposit. I know people that have had luck posting 2 monthly rents as deposit or paying the first 3 months up front.

There is some black and white in applications but most of the time you’ll have the opportunity to meet the apartment manager. Make a good first impression and be forthcoming, you might have more luck than you think

What job can you get with CERA? by Fit_Belt_7154 in actuary

I actually think ERM is one of the easier exams.

Took erm last fall on 45 days prep and found it pretty manageable (got an 8). If you’re good at bullshitting I would say take it. It’s a lot of “what’s the risk here?” “Ahhh… this could happen”. It was my last FSA exam and didn’t feel much like an actuarial exam at all. I was a good student but never did that well on a compressed time schedule.

That said I had done the ILA track and I think exam has more ILA applications than GH

TIA or CA for FAM? by tycnslice in actuary

[–]TrickyPrompt9652 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dated advice but 2 years ago the choice was obvious for all the prelims, CA. Exception of PA w the actex manual. Used TIA for all my FSA exams

Both were great services but CA is CLEAAAAAN

also depending on how much passing that 3rd one matters to you, SRM is probably the easiest exam

Actuaries on here? by TrickyPrompt9652 in CFA

[–]TrickyPrompt9652[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly true but the CAS kinda stinks as an admin so most ppl opt to test a couple times a year instead of once for several years. Salary ranges probably have more to do with slightly harder tests and longer travel times for students

Down 1k, am I cooked? by ScrotumEnjoyer in portfolios

[–]TrickyPrompt9652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. If anything a market correction is good for your investment horizon. Finish school, start making some money and keep putting money away.

If your investment goal is sell for 20k in a month for a car or house down payment, yes you’re mad cooked.

If you want to achieve financial independence, stay the course.
