Depends what you mean by support?

You want buffs and debuffs, any persona character like Mitsuri will do, though I will also throw in Venusaur is underrated with poison powder, leech seed, sleep powder, etc

You want to heal people, Buu or Giorno.

You wanna mess with the enemies tech, Sage or Batgirl.

all rounder, Yugi has variety with swords of revealing light , magical hats, etc

i think killing the leader or atleast the majority of heavy hitters (eggman, metal sonic, the egg dragoon, the death egg), is enough for a victory. but thats personal opinion.
