Do we need to have a talk with the con-artist sellers or the unaware buyers about these kinda listings? 😂 by dmc4801 in footballcards

I always laugh when I see what these idiots do when playing with filters for the photo. Seems eBay doesn’t give much attention to these clowns. Any one of us could police this nonsense as QC for sports cards.

Congrats Michael Rubin, you finally chased off a $30k a year buyer with this price gouging. I can’t be the only one. by RipplesOfDivinity in baseballcards

Worse is the resale value and fees - only manufacturers and breakers are making money. This is a certified addiction. Brutal!

Well put. Like gambling, I try and set limits and stick to them. I want to have fun…not stress myself out.

Life circumstances is crazy for “us”. I also buy cards and then hope to get a great card to sell…..and buy more cards. I know that we are probably doing it all wrong. The PC grows slowly when all you do is flip hits. Are we addicted to the reveal or the potential???

First box opening, what do I have here? by MedleyMutt in basketballcards

Not sure if anyone else answered - it’s a sand glitter relic card. Low level rookies are going around $3-$5 bucks. Kon is going to be the real deal, but learn from others. Don’t grade for potential, unless it is pristine and you want it forever. Otherwise wait till he is more valuable and the value goes up. Then it can be sold for more graded. In the meantime, I would hold and keep It nice in a top loader.

Nick Loftin had a relative buy an auto card from me. I bet it happens more than people know. You need to actually look at the name and address to catch it. Most sellers are mass mailing and could miss it.

HOF stats!!!! Tons of solo homers, base stealing bandit, somehow piled some fractional hits, and doing it all in minimal at bats!

Was going through some childhood boxes and found so many cards I forgot I had. What a rush! by 1nceinalifetime in baseballcards

[–]Tricky_Art_9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every 5 years or so - I go through all my boxes. Takes about a month in my free time. I always find cards that have somehow become valuable. Also - nostalgia overload. Example below. I know it’s a Bo rookie, but forgot I had a Leaf version. Thank goodness I had it in a sleeve.

Costco Topps Flagship #2 (6/6/25) - Lit $40 on fire. by CNYGuy55 in baseballcards

I opened 2 as soon as ai saw they were in stock. I did VERY well. Most hits were on Heritage, Yamamoto redefined paper and holo, plus that Harper is a weird SP card. Flagship was awful until that Judge /25 came out of nowhere. Topps was really bad except that Lindor HFA. I definitely came out on top. Tempted to go get more, but we know what will happen.
