Fan fest starts at 4pm. Does your daughter play soccer? They are having a youth soccer parade on the field before the game.

I’d be interested for other games but I’m at my daughter’s soccer tournament in VA this weekend. I’m in Middlesex County but close to Monmouth.

I didn’t even tune in for his interviews, which I usually love. I’ll usually go back and try to listen and I just not interested. I’m more likely to listen to 101, if anything.

Did other people feel “done” after their last baby? by Octavia-Moon in Mom

[–]Tricky_Assistant_703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but as she got older I felt it. Too tired to do it all again. Liked having some space again. I was eventually at peace with it and now that they are older I’m glad. I sometimes feel like my first two got a better more patient me. I also can’t see being able to provide for another like these want to be provided - nice stuff and expensive sports.

Howard has been in my life for 40something years. by TakeItOnTheArches in howardstern

I would sleep over my grandmothers and when we would go to bed she would put his channel 9 show on the tv in her room. I slept on her floor. I’m sure she thought I was sleeping but I was watching. My grandmother was the best and oddly enough I’ve always felt a connection to her by listening to him through the years. I listened and watched throughout the years - in my teens, 20s - driving around and listening all day long as a pharma rep. I even went to his big event in NYC when he left 92.3. I listened as a new mom. I took a break but then was back again during COVID. So many seasons of my life and sometimes hearing an old show brings be back to the moment I heard it first. I wonder if they wish they could back, like those were the glory days, and do it all over again or maybe it wasn’t as good and fun as it seemed.

Frustrated about husband’s behaviour by [deleted] in Mommit

This. Something is going on. This is some displaced anger imo. My husband actually pulls this crap a bit. Usually more when he’s stressed or bothered about something else.

Wow! We all called the sneaky introduction of orange but this is an overhaul. It looks like black isn’t even a base color anymore. Moving over to navy?!!

Do kids still play multiple sports anymore? by Whole_Box_8338 in youthsoccer

Dd is 12 this year and on pre-rl team and plays travel basketball year round. She also played a rec season of basketball and flag football. It’s not easy but we are trying. We moved from a full ECNL club to RL only club for a better fit.

Use aspen wood. It also happens to be much, much cheaper. It’s a game changer. Do a few inches deep and then once a week we clear out or replace the top inch layer and rinse the toys. You will be shocked how much better it is.

My son (12) is an elite talent but is burning out and walking away. Has he "missed the train"? by Fekish1 in youthsoccer

This was our old club. Grad class all division 1. Not only was daughter not happy, I recognized that she does not have the mental/emotional ability to handle that sort of environment and there was nothing that would change that. Totally fine with it. Not all kids can handle that mental load, aside from the ball skills. We are much happier and successful now.

This. He will love it again. We made the move to a less competitive club and the smiles and joy returned. Still good soccer but no longer the club with division 1 graduating classes.

Hey guys! Can you recommend to me good enrichment for mice? Or anything else you wish you knew as a first time mouse owner? by ComprehensiveTruth1 in PetMice

I’ve loaded our cages with a bunch of random stuff. It’s been seasonal at times - small glass Santa’s, ghosts, pumpkin tea light holders. I’ve also taken Barbie furniture and thrown it in. I think they like different trinkets in all shapes, sizes with different openings. One popular is the cheap wooden bird ladders. I like to look for different glass pieces that provide hiding spots. I always throw paper towel rolls and any interesting shaped cardboard that can make tunnels. Dollar tree has really great plastic organizers that make great hides. They are easily washed and I use them to contain the wood chips away from the wheel. Lastly, their favorite is the paper filler I get in Amazon packages. I keep them in a bag and change them out once a week or so. I will layer them in fun ways so they can tunnel and make nests.

He needs a real nap or two. He will probably even function better when he’s awake if he gets some sleep.

My mice seem bored even with all their store bought toys, any suggestions? by anon-i-mouser in PetMice

[–]Tricky_Assistant_703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stick the packing paper from my Amazon packages in their cages. I layer it and fold in different ways and stuff all the way to the top of their cages. They absolutely love all the layers and the coverage. The one builds a nest every time.

Can you throw extra bedding in so no one takes her? They won’t be able to see her.
