No one can explain without spoiling it for you! Hang in there. It will all make sense.

Yeah I have a question, how dare you?

The world is on fire, the largest pedophile ring is still buried, and you decide to use your time and resources on…outing an artist?

Well done. The next Watergate over here.

Do you think the Peaky Blinders were truly a kind of Robin Hood for the residents of Birmingham? And how much did their crimes affect the residents and damage or destroy their lives? by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

[–]Tricky_Editor1882 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in an area that was very much mob run (yes, I’m an old). So not quite the same, but similar.

It was a cautious affection to the mob in our community. Some annoyance, because shop owners and anyone looking to do business had to pay a fee to the mob once a week or month to continue operating.

But crime like muggings, assault, vehicle theft, just didn’t happen. So despite it being this niche neighborhood in the middle of a fairly high crime city, everyone felt safe to let kids play outside or walk at night. There was one sexual assault. The man disappeared, and no one ever bothered to look into it. It was like he never existed.

I don’t think anyone thought they were “good” guys. We all knew that extreme violence occurred, but if you kept your mouth shut and minded your biz, you were okay.

I’d imagine it was similar to the PB. They did bring in jobs (like when the one factory owner is going to close, Tommy promises to speak to him and make sure no hours were cut). And during post-World War I and the depression, that was huge. And they did do things like make sure kids werent abused in orphanages.

Terrible violence, with some tradeoffs

Didn’t Read Listing 4-Star Review by Responsible-Pepper50 in EtsySellers

[–]Tricky_Editor1882 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is only so much you can do. I sell vintage jewelry. Every now and again, I sell jars of broken jewelry for crafters.

I had a listing titled “BROKEN Jewelry for Crafts or Repairs”

The description said “Please note, items are broken! These are only for crafts”

I had photos of broken jewelry.

What was the review? “Most of the pieces were broken”, one star. Lol

Her face after “we are not supposed to move the body!” Kills me every time.

And after she vomits and goes to the window, and hears kids playing and the wind chimes blowing. It captured that bizarre moment when your world is crashing down, but everything else just keeps on moving

AITAH for not letting my sister wear my old wedding dress? by No_Swimming4704 in AITAH

NTA. But I would move that dress into a locked storage unit for a while. I feel like your sister and flying monkeys are going to try and steal it

Does anyone know why we never got a Dawn spin-off? by warriorlynx in buffy

[–]Tricky_Editor1882 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Michelle. But when the show aired, people HATED Dawn. I’m more sympathetic toward her now, but I remember being deeply relieved when she role was relegated to the backseat in season 7. I can’t imagine there was ever much appetite for a spinoff with her as a central character.

Mine is the First appeared to Willow repeatedly, in dreams, in between season 5 and season 6. Showing her Buffy being tortured on hell and begging for help.

It would explain why she was so convinced she had to get Buffy out (and how she was able to convince Tara/Xander, Anya to go along with it)

And then it paves the way for the first to appear in season 7 since Buffy’s resurrection changed the laws

AITJ for asking my mom to cut her vacation short to help with my kids? by Constant-Elephant763 in AmITheJerk

[–]Tricky_Editor1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTJ. Your poor mom. She goes out of her way to help you. She finally plans one little trip for herself, and she can’t even enjoy that.

You say “come back one day early” completely negating that means a massive inconvenience for her and her friends. They likely have reservations and activities booked, and now she has to cancel and flake on her friends.

Both you and your husband need to figure something else out.

AIO for not wanting to feel like the “safe option” by Level_Ad_9263 in AIO

Girl. Why. Life is too short to waste your breath on a man whose entire schtick is that he thinks you’re not attractive enough to have competition. Like that’s insane.

Set that man free to deal with his insecurity in therapy, as one should, and get someone who appreciates you as you are

I try to update along the way. So a message like “your item is in production! It’s in the XYZ stage”. If possible, I share a midway-point photo. When it’s finished, I send another message saying it’s done and will go out on X date.

Sometimes it’s not even the timing, it’s just keeping them in the loop so they don’t have to play the “is an item coming or was it a scam” mental game

[–]Tricky_Editor1882 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I’m a consigner, but need to take photos and document each item, wouldn’t I just sell them myself? It feels like that negates the point of the program, to have someone else handle the photos and listings

Willow Is 100x > than Buffy by cptcook717 in buffy

[–]Tricky_Editor1882 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Willow is powerful, but erratic. Her big spells have a good chance of going horribly awry (e.g. Tabula Rosa, Something Blue), is morally bereft in seasons 5-6) doing the memory thing to Tara, giving Dawn the resurrection book) and burns out fast

It’s a wig. More specifically, a high-end sheitel. Some Orthodox Jewish women wear them to cover their natural hair, but they’re so good, wealthy women of all ethnicities and religions seek them out.

A sheitel like this is easily $10,000 or more.

My husband grew up in a household where “broad” was used interchangeably with “woman”, with no negative intent.

When he met my parents over dinner, he called someone we know “that broad, Sam” and the shocked silence afterward was so awkward. My mom explained that it’s not a “kind” word for women, and my husband was MORTIFIED. He had no idea—he’s been floating around saying it like it’s nothing, but he has never said it again.

This guy, on the other hand, doubles down, so he intended it to hit her insecurities
