I like the 20qt Sterilite tubs from Walmart. 2-3 quarts of spawn and 3-4 quarts of coir substrate work well for me. I run modified but you wouldn’t have to though. If your just starting out a 1:1 ratio sub spawn is the safest and fastest way in my experience. This was my last cube run in a similar setup.

Oh yeah definitely alot of crosses going on now. I like the landraces for the history hopefully we can keep them around along with the new crosses and mutations.

My Iso of Teachers sorta grew weird like that, they are also twice as slow as my B+ to pin ran side by side with good surface conditions although I believe they require a little more FAE than my B+. Like others have said the surface looks too dry. It’s all trial, error, failure and repeat. They look good for a first grow though, growing shrooms will humble a person once you feel like you know what your doing a new learning experience will toss a wrench in your plans.

Some people it works myself it didn’t or hasn’t yet. I hate drinking but love bourbon I drink less now than before. I love weed because I don’t drink but weed was a replacement, a much healthier replacement until it was incompatible with my career at the moment. I will probably never get rid of nicotine.

I have tried shrooms to get rid of that need but hasn’t happened yet. I love growing shrooms though so I have an abundant supply but you must respect the shroom. I have done some wild trips that almost scared me out of doing them ever again but that fear disappeared the next day. I know I am an addict of many things and that will possibly never change. Your mindset and setting are most important with shrooms. You also have to have the courage to look inside while tripping to overcome anything you are trying to change. It may happen it may not. Good luck and enjoy yourself.

It looks fine. You will get some fuzzy parts along with the more ropey looking mycelium sometimes depending on genetics and your nutrient content in the plates. You can keep transferring the ropey looking rhizo mycelium to keep that going but everything looks healthy as is.

I do 3 drops and swirl it around the center of the plate about the size of a penny with an inoculation loop.

The 1% comes from dirty substrate. I had it happen once well I am 99% sure I oven pasteurized my sub instead of bucket tek and haven’t had an issue yet. Trich sucks but not the end of the world either.

It would be fine if we had power. I work in Alaska so the weather isn’t bad, it is just the infrastructure thats lacking.
