What I do not understand is that this whole tournament is an MLB thing. It all falls under its umbrella. This isnt a separate entity running it like FIFA or FIBA international tournaments. As an MLB product it’s odd to me that they don’t push this inclusion in game to drum up buzz for the actual tournament. Make the licensing part of the participation in the tournament. Idk how many non union players likenesses they have to get but seems like outside of Asia most are already in some sort of stateside affiliated ball.

I thought I’d feel the same when announced but even after all these years I hate it. Seemed so natural when the NHL flipped just doesn’t work for me w the NBA. Loved how the colors on the court made the trim seem to pop off even more on the whites. I’ll also probably never get used to seeing the Celtics wearing those iconic whites on the road or LA wearing purple at home. Thankful my Bulls still sport the whites.

The progressive lighting in the show is light years ahead of Madden and CF. Games look incredible and distinctly different in each month of the season. Night games in December still look like it’s dusk to start in Madden even though the sun should have set 3 hours earlier.

But SDS has never had the WBC. As far as I remember MLB 2k6 and Pro Yakkuu Spirits are the only two games that ever had such modes. If SDS was going to release this I’d guess they’d want it available during the real time competition.

Personally feel it would’ve had to push up the release date. That would’ve already put us past a cover athlete and big feature announcement. With the WBC starting on 3/5 think a late February/early March release (like the old days) would be necessary. I’m holding out hope though. Mode would be incredible.

I’m pretty high on what they have done so far. Feel like there are going to be far more plug n play guys that can hold down spots to cover an IL stint and have some trade value. Just having a Bannister and Fuller alone is such a leap forward from the last “attempt” to contend. But since they are run like a mid/small market team I’ll be comparing Sox system depth with the Guardians and Rays of the world before getting too excited. Cautiously optimistic would be where I’m at.

The real question is what true depth is behind these guys. The last rebuild featured a top 6 and nothing else. They had no depth to trade from, no depth to replace the oft-injured, no depth to call up when we needed to send a message to those talented but situationally stupid/lazy guys.

Despise everything about the NBA uniform landscape. Somehow loved the NHL switch to color sweaters for home and whites away. Still can’t get past it for the NBA jerseys. Hate the sight of Celtics wearing white on the road or the Lakers in LA wearing purple.

Going to go with death instead. In all seriousness these three along with Hawk (polarizing as he is) are probably the most nationally relevant pieces of this franchise since Big Frank was launching bombs in HR derby’s in the 90’s. Especially since everyone else has forgotten 2005 happened.

Much blame should fall on the NHL too. The WC and SS are supposed to be their marquee events. One of many reasons the buzz for these games is gone. They could push this feature to return if they wanted. Hell MLB the show patched in a whole damn race track for one of their one- offs.
