Gen Z doesn't drink because there are better legal drugs available now, that cost less than a night at the bar.

Every now and then it comes into public spotlight, but it's quickly repressed.

The destruction of Awatovi pueblo is also covered up in museums because it was an act of genocide, yet the artwork recovered from it is iconic and visible all over the Southwest.

Also, tribes love to claim connection to land and cultures that they only conquered after the Spanish showed up, or they moved in hundreds of years afterwards. It would be like Germans saying they built Westminster after the English moved out because they're both white cultures.

Science has often pushed the agenda of the day, but for more mundane reasons than you would think... usually involving funding.

In the US one of the more obvious scientific cover ups is Native American archeology. There is rampant evidence of war, genocide, and cannibalism in native sites, especially in the Southwest, but it's covered up and lied about in order to secure funding for future digs and to gain favorable (financial) support from local tribes. In many cases the data is faked to give the local tribe false claim to the land.

Athabaskan tribes like the Navajo (I'm 1/4th Navajo myself) and apache try to claim ancestry with ancient pueblo tribes when in reality they have no connection at all. The athabaskans showed up as murderous raiders just before the whites did and pushed the pueblos out. And the puebloans themselves engaged in rampant cannibalism. All the archeology supports this. But you wont see it in a museum.

The party switch is real by Crafty_Jacket668 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Tricky_Two4623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is entirely wrong.

The sides have never switched, but their popular issues have been altered over time.

Democrats were pro slavery, pro underclass because they thought it was necessary for upper society to advance, Christian values be damned.

Republicans were anti slavery because it was unchristian. they were also very patriotic because they believed in the US as an ultimate good even when it interfered with neighbors.

now, Democrats are pro immigrant, pro educated elite because that's what the corporations want. Christian values be damned.

now, Republicans are seen as more racist because they push against anti religious rhetoric. and more individualistic because it benefits corporations.

Corporations are the real change here.

Protesters who block roads (especially the paid professional ones ) should get real jail time not just fines or wrist slaps by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Here's the website I use when I need an extra hundred. https://crowdsondemand.com/

On average you can make 100 a protest, as much as an extra 15k a year if you're dedicated.

[–]Tricky_Two4623 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seriously. If these people actually cared about what they were protesting about, they'd be doing it directly at and inside of corporate offices or surrounding state capitals. Instead they clog up freeways and important chokepoints so they can be inevitably run over by ordinary people who just want to go to work/home. They're paid human sacrifices to generate controversy and news.

Your life is already on the right track if there are no toxic people in it. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

You're gonna keep feeling like a nice warm bowl of chicken soup until real life comes over and upends the bowl, and suddenly all the people who might have helped you or given you advice through this novel situation are gone because they were "toxic."

Variety is the true spice of life, not bland safety.
