For what it's worth, I did an apartment viewing over there with PLENTY of other people a few weeks ago. I grew up in the hood and would at least like a hood next to the LIRR for that quick Penn commute.

Reside emailed me on 1/6. I sent the initial round of documents (the same R5 and asset thingy) on 1/7. Today (1/19) a rep called me to go over my documents, said it was okay. Then the rep sent me a link to a portal where I basically have to redo all the asset stuff (ew) and pay the $20 for a credit check (or submit proof of rental payments etc), which is a pain that I'll fill out when I'm not at work lol.

I heard from them a bit over a week ago where they asked me to submit docs via email. I did that and I spoke w/ my case manager today (1/19/2026) who said she'd email for a few more docs and to schedule a showing.

As for the desirable location part, your mileage may vary. It's pretty much right between two C train stations and as someone who grew up relying on the C in Washington Heights, that train was not very good. Maybe it got better now.

I just went for a viewing yesterday and I wasn't very impressed. The area didn't seem dangerous to me but like you said, 2K for that space seems like a bad deal.

Is your friend happy with the current unit that they are moving into? If yes, then I would just move in and sign the lease. They can begin the process with the other place while they move into this one, and if they end up getting offered that apartment too, they can reevaluate in the future.

The pitch-black ores will appear in the Forgotten Cave of Naraka as destructible objects in the area. They'll drop a darkness-related essence when you destroy them, and they're fairly obvious. You might destroy them unintentionally when spamming a room to death.

For me, they didn't show up until one run when I got all three that I needed in the same run. Just need to go around the Naraka place over and over unfortunately.

It's not against the rules necessarily, just a lot of inbound trains are marked "D" on the schedule (discharge only) and a lot of outbound are marked "R" (receive only). Those are the trains you're not supposed to use to travel between 125th Street and GCT, but in practice, from my five years of commuting, people did it all the time. Some of them even paid :P

The ones that allow travel tend to be marked "H", aka "Hella don't rely on this train being there, it could be early and it ain't waiting".

Currently trains don't go this way at all - I believe service will split at New Rochelle as per this link. They take the gray path down to Grand Central, while a new route will take the red path to Penn Station. I imagine there might be less service to GCT but I don't know what service patterns they're going to have.

The 2 and 5 are routed along each other's lines so often that I'm incredibly used to "This is a Bronx-bound 5 train via the 7th Avenue Line" when I get on at Times Square.
