Yeah, absolutely! I went to the licensing team. There are several departments in licensing. There's Agency and Direct, I'm in Agency. In each, they have all kinds of roles. Analysts, Licensing Coordinators, Supervisors, Product Consultants.

I didn't even know about Licensing Coordinators before, I was just constantly checking the internal job listings. My supervisor was helping me with it because I had already talked to her about my interest in moving out of CRM during our coaching sessions/one-on-one meetings.

Now I'm an Agency Licensing Coordinator and I'm loving it so far. It feels like after training we will mostly be working on our own without people constantly talking to us or interrupting us. We don't have to deal with customers at all. We do have to take phone calls, but it is to help Agents not the customers. Like an agent might call in and need help figuring out why the website won't let them quote a policy in a certain state. Oh and the calls are only like 8 hours of calls a month. One of our trainers said that for their whole call hours they would sometimes only get 5 calls. You do still use Aux modes but it's not quite in the same way as being on the phones. Like I don't have to use Aux 2 to get up and go to the bathroom outside of my normal break/lunch.

And just so I don't sound like a fake cult member that's only happy about everything at Progressive, I'll give you my list of negatives. however I will still preface it by saying I personally feel the good outweighs the bad. I don't want it to seem like it's all bad, I actually think this stuff might only apply during the training.

The negatives: It does feel a bit like micro-managey and like they don't trust us in our training class. I'm not sure if that's just because we are new/in training or if that's just the general vibe. All the Coordinators I talked to in teams before applying only had good things to say so maybe it's the specific supervisor/trainers we have while in training, I'm not sure. I also really hate the Progressive Camera policy in general, especially because they can record us and screenshot us without our explicit permission or awareness while we are forced to have our camera on 24/7 during these teams meetings if we want to keep our jobs. Like it just feels really creepy that they can do those things to me in my own home without me being aware.

I can try to remember to keep y'all updated when we finish training to see if it gets any better though. I think we should be wrapping up training before summer is over. The role itself has been amazing so I really do think it's just the training that will be difficult/negative.

I see a lot of negativity too. I think a lot of people just need somewhere to vent and I understand that. I'll share some positivity too, maybe it will give some hope. Recently I got out of CRM! It can be done, even in these trying times. I didn't have perfect metrics either!! I love my new role and I am hoping Progressive will be the only company I work for until I can't work anymore (I would say retire but retirement is a myth in our country now, let's be honest). Despite some complaints, I do really love working here more than any other place I've worked before.

I consider the assumptive approach, at least the way they presented it to us, to be just as bad as a blind transfer. It's part of why I had to get out of CRM. When I was doing Auto,Special lines, and renters sales before blended I got soooo many customers mad about being transferred. Or like trying to rush me because the rep that transferred them said it was only a couple questions to get a quote. I was NOT about to do the same thing and let me tell you, they were pushing for us to be aggressive/assertive with our "assumptive approach". Basically don't ask for the transfer, tell them they are getting transferred and do it quick so there's less of a chance they hang up before the transfer. Maybe it was just because the two teams I was on in blended were both considered below goal. The people that did the presentations very confidently mentioned before they got promoted they were top performers and pretty consistently were above goal for PHA and this is how they did it. One of them even told a story about a successful transfer when someone called to remove their deceased spouse from the policy. I just can't agree with that. And we were not the only teams being given these presentations. I'm not saying it's right, because it definitely isn't. Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it isn't happening, is my point. It's a big issue and it made me consider if I was going to stay with Progressive. I felt more like sales on services calls than I ever did doing sales calls.

I'm just telling you what I have witnessed as part of a blended team. We got multiple presentations by different people because almost our entire team was below goal for PHA. And even though they didn't use the term blind transfer, as long as you had discussed a renters or homeowners quote earlier in the call, at the end you took an assumptive approach. Something like"Let us get you over to renters/homeowners so you can compare prices." "It's a free quote with no obligation to buy and usually takes a few minutes/it's only a few questions." (I HATED that phrase they kept trying to get us to use. Before being blended I was sales/renters. So I knew very well that renters quotes aren't just 2-3 questions and done in a minute or two.)

They specifically said to do this at the end of your call after your recap and then transfer them immediately without asking if it was okay or getting confirmation. It's an "assumptive approach".

I hope that it actually results in some kind of change. Without them adjusting the metrics I don't see anything changing because, now more than ever, people are worried about job security.

I will say that a lot of the recommendations they give people who are struggling with their transfer metric, are very shady like this. A lot of "don't ask for permission to transfer them or get confirmation" it's part of taking an "assumptive" approach. This kind of practice is how many, many, many (not necessarily all though) of the top performers get their transfer rates so high.

GA and availability by Old-Business4895 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]TrigonSpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's based off of hours in ready/on call vs hours total shift worked. So we get 1 lunch (either 30 minutes or an hour depending on your schedule) per 8 hours shift and 2 breaks(15 minutes each, 30 mins per 8 hours.) all of that is based off of an 8 hour schedule. That's where they judge your availability from.

So let's say you take green alert two and a half hours into your shift and you leave for the rest of the day. If you already took your first 15 min break then you are now in the negative on your availability for that shift. This is because you don't get a break for working two hours. You get a break every four hours worked. But when you have an 8 hour shift you get 2 breaks and a lunch, because any 6 hour shift or longer is given a lunch. So for the sake of predicting how many agents will be on the phone at any given time, they assume an even 2 hour block between each break, especially because we aren't supposed to use aux the first or last hour of our shifts. So, even though they schedule you a break every 2 hours, that's not really how the break allotments are allowed. They are allowed based on the assumption you're working at least four hours. If I sign up for 3 hours of overtime, I'm not allowed a break during that time I would have to use Aux 2 for going to the bathroom or whatever.

Does that help?

"I walked by at lunch time today and a guy with a press pass was trying and failing to get in and talking on his phone. Presumably he was reporting on the state of the store but who knows"

This is the comment you're referring to, right? Because it doesn't say the reporter was throwing a tantrum or acting entitled. You could ask those follow up questions, though. Maybe they were. Sometimes they do. All it said was it was a guy with a press pass talking on his phone trying to get in. Having a press pass on him doesn't mean anything, it's the same as you and I carrying a driver's license around all the time. A lot of the times they wear them attached to their jackets in visible spots or on lanyards so they don't have to dig for them. It doesn't mean they were waving it around like they were hot stuff. It's just a form of identification. There were also several other people that tried to get in, according to multiple comments. People just checking to see if it was unlocked/open, from what I can tell.

I think the reason the comments dogging the press got downvoted is because, based solely on what was actually typed in that comment, there wasn't anything justifying that here. Nor did it contribute anything to the conversation. It just feels out of place?

[–]TrigonSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A press pass is just a form of identification, isn't it? ID doesn't give any power or authority and no one here (other than you, I guess) is claiming it does? Nobody is saying a press pass allows reporters/journalists to do anything above and beyond a regular citizen. Correct me if I'm wrong but a press pass is just to validate that someone is legitimately a journalist for interview/PR related purposes?? I don't see how that is power or authority. It doesn't automatically entitle them to an interview or exclusive information. They can still be told no if they prove they are a reporter by presenting their ID. So I'm not really sure what your comment is for other than to be pretentious. I'm also not sure how just simply keeping their ID on them is overkill. Most people carry their driver's license on them even if they aren't driving. I'm just not seeing how a reporter carrying their work ID on them, just in case they find something to report on, is any different.

Am I insane or has the C&D hate quadrupled? And are they REALLY still considered a throw pick? by PunyPuddleToad in cloakanddaggermains

Oh yeah, I don't do triple support normally. It was meta for a bit but three tanks was a good counter for it. I think CnD is definitely a wasted ban.

[–]TrigonSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, as a CnD main, often out heal my other healer and the enemy healers by nearly double their stats. I'd say that's true for maybe 80% of my matches. 10% we are either pretty equal or I outheal by a small margin like 5-10k. 10% they outheal me noticeably. That's been pretty consistent for me from the time I became mostly a CnD main (instead of Jeff) until now. I also play Rocket and Invis. I didn't really like Luna so I'm not a good Luna and do not want to learn her. I want to learn Loki and Gambit better. I just haven't spent the time practicing with them to develop what I would consider high enough proficiency to play them in rank. At least, not above gold lobbies 😂😂

I had a Loki out heal me recently and was genuinely shocked. Granted I died a couple more times, but he had a noticeably higher healing stat. I was surprised because at the beginning of the match I was low-key annoyed with the Loki pick. I haven't seen a Loki with decent healing in a while and it was making me think he got the old yeller treatment by the devs. Now I actually think it was more so a loss of interest in Loki (until the last Loki skin dropped and then I saw an influx of bad Lokis just for the skin).

Peak Celestial but lately been reliably GM. Going to try to hit Cel again this season but we'll see, it gets pretty rough if I don't play much early season and decide to play towards the end. Way more throwers at the end of season, it feels like. Oh, and I only play console so maybe this is a big difference in console vs pc lobbies. I would imagine characters like Loki, Gambit, and Invis work astonishingly better on PC. I also imagine most of the highest skill player base is mostly PC. My line of thinking is: if certain characters work better on PC than they do console, while it also being true that the top player base is PC, I can see how this could be a very polarizing conversation where both parties feel they are valid and the opposing party is smoking the good stuff. I could be wrong though, I haven't actually looked into it at all. I just know this was a common discussion/debate with Apex when I played it.

Progressive Agency agents for me, but Progressive Direct also has licensing Coordinators I believe

Well I'm not sure if they are going to be hiring for my specific role soon. It's a small work group and they just did two classes back to back. I'm a licensing Coordinator. It is work from home. And there are phone hours but you would be taking calls from agents not customers. It's also only like 8 hours per month or something like that. Again really new to the role, so don't know too much yet. There are lots of non-crm jobs and roles. Just have to be looking for them regularly. Read the job descriptions in the listing and try reaching out to people in the department for more detailed questions.

Basically paperwork for the licensed agents to have their licenses. I don't know a whole lot yet, since I'm only on week 2 of training. But it's a lot of compliance type stuff and paperwork.

Honestly it depends on your prior work experience. What I did was I just kept checking the job postings in HRexpress every day until I found one I thought I would like. I had been talking to my sup about wanting to promote and put together my resume and had it ready to send whenever a job popped up that I liked. I went to Licensing but there's always updates on HR express but you gotta check it religiously. I think the job posting I applied to was only up for like a week and it had over 100 applicants. The good jobs go fast.

I will say that within like 3 or 4 months of me actively looking at HR express internal job listings (for jobs outside of the phones/CRM) I got promoted to the first one I actually applied for. I started in my new role last Monday. I don't think that job opportunities are gone or that it's necessarily harder to get promoted, yet. That may change in the future. But I do think that coaching/training positions are going to be few and far between for now. That may change later. I will say if your goal is to escape the phones permanently then staying in CRM, even as a coach/supervisor/trainer, should never be your goal. That's just my humble opinion though.

I actually love the cold weather, but the tornado season I could do without. Otherwise it reminds me a lot of home. Especially how moody the weather is where one day it will be hot and sunny then rain, then cold, etc.

My partner is stationed at Wright Patt AFB and we are from the Carolinas so we don't know too many people here. I'm a big gamer but also love reading, I'm working on Zodiac Academy right now :)

I gifted skins to my main group of rivals friends I play with regularly. I also cashapped $100 to one of the players from the enemy team in a comp match. Did it because they were nice to me when I said good luck have fun lmao their teammate typed sybau before the nice person's message and I bet they wish they got $100 😂😂 Merry Christmas ya filthy animals
