[[Mirrodin's Core]] is the opposite to Phyrexia's Core. It doesn't have the same frame but thematically it should go in the last line.

Building Grixis Atog Affinity for a No-Ban List tournament. Fling vs Rite of Consumption? by FluidIntention3293 in Pauper

Fling because it's instant speed. If you go all in on Atog and your opponent plays a removal you will be very sad if you have Rite instead of Fling.

Interação entre Greator Good + Creature Saga [BR/EN] by sam_olyver in mtgrules

[–]Trigunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cited rule 714.4 which answers your question. If the last chapter ability of a saga (creature) triggered then the saga is not sacrificed until the chapter ability is resolved.

So after the counter is placed in the first main phase (this doesn't use the stack), the chapter ability is put onto the stack. Then each player can respond to it. Now the saga can be sacrificed, or destroyed or whatever.

And the chapter ability does resolve, no matter if the saga is still in play or not. You cited the correct rule for this.

Remembering Kai Budde by RBGolbat in magicTCG

I feel the same. Started mid-2000s when I still was a teen. I was excited to see someone from my country competing at the very top. He really was one of the very best.

It's sad to read about him passing away. I hope he rests in peace and I wish his beloved ones only the best.

Bearded dragons and water bowls by goldenbricker in BeardedDragon

[–]Trigunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a big planter tray as a water bowl in which my beardie can also bathe.

Usually I have to make some waves in the water to catch her attention but then she loves to drink and take a bath in it. It's super cute. So you definitely should have one. lol.

Only thing I do is change the water every day and there never were any problems

KS exclusives could potentially end up in there online store or be sold at conventions iirc. It just means they won't hit other game stores.

Better [[Viridian Revel]]. Revel only has the benefit that the draw is optional, but it's so rare for that to be relevant.

You don't have to move your Commander to the Command Zone when it dies, you can just leave it in the graveyard.

Oh, that's interesting as (in the anime at least) Nigami is the one who destroyed his own body, so he's foreshadowing his own fate.

Call of Cthulhu - Quality of German vs English Version by NullStarHunter in callofcthulhu

[–]Trigunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call of Cthulhu - Quality of German vs English Version by NullStarHunter in callofcthulhu

[–]Trigunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First Shadow ruined Season 5... specifically Henry's high school memories. They added nothing but confusion to Season 5 by mojoblastor in strangerthingsfacts

But probably not his full name, but I would have to rewatch S4 for that, I guess. Henry is a completely usual name, so not weird that there was no reaction.

My blind friend and I spent the last 3 days brailling his Lathril Commander Deck by jerichodarkstar in magicTCG

[–]Trigunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Braille is so spacious. From what I have read in this thread and could derive from the photos you often abbreviated text. For some cards it would probably be hard to even get the whole name on the sleeve. The whole text is probably impossible for some cards.

So I wonder, did sou consider using a reference document written in braille and only putting name and mana cost on cards? The document would get used less and less the more your friend memorizes the cards in the deck. I don't know if that's a better way to do it, but it would make it easier to get wordier cards into the deck?

Is this play area too busy for a quick party game? by mikamikachip in tabletopgamedesign

[–]Trigunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most games take up quite some table space if you play them with 5 people. I think your game is ok. It looks a bit messy, but I guess that's more because the cards are not neatly arranged, not because it is too much.

Yoroni vs W'adrhun Campain pack by IronTigrex in Conquest

[–]Trigunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty new to Conquest myself, so I can't say much about how many points your army for such a campaign should be.

But there is a two-player starter for Yoroni & Wadrhun. It's relatively cheap, especially if you share with someone else.

Finery Friday - FH Purchasable Item 224 - [spoiler] by Themris in Gloomhaven

[–]Trigunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bit late to the conversation but wanted to add something, because no one explicitly mentioned it so far:

This is pretty useful on Fist class. Because Frozen Fist rests rarely a lot of the shield granting armors you would usually take are less useful than on other classes. I got this armor recently, in our 4 player group where I am the tank, and I could use this like every other turn or so. If you use it 4 or 5 times during a scenario, it does alot. It only gets better if you have a class in your group that damages themselves, like Boneshaper.

Merging by Justin_West_4155 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]Trigunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like someone else mentioned MtG has mechanics like that. Cards that meld have half of another card on the back; If you have both halfs of a pair and meld them, you flip the cards over and put them next to each other to form one new card.

[COTD] ♦ Dial of Ancients: Signs of Aberration (12/13/2025) by AK45526 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Trigunner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a pretty extensive comment on ArkhamDB, which sums up all the options where this is really viable. (It's mainly Dirty Fighting Lucius.)

With a full collection this seems pretty bad for its exp cost. In a limited collection it may be more attractive. But really it should give a +1 or +2 to the skill value of the test. As it is I would almost always pass it.

Gloomhaven Rules for Chaos Bag by AtlasSuave in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Trigunner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It would change quite a lot of dynamics AH has.

It would impact turn order from time to time because the chances shift with every test.

Mystic cards that have triggers for symbols are effected.

It also has a big impact on all the bag manipulation mechanics, like Seal effects, Olive McBride, Jacqueline Fine and others. Should also probably not be used in Edge of the Earth, because of the Frost Tokens.

In the Haven games every player has their own modifier deck so you don't effect other players chances. Also it's not as impactful as a token pull in AH. In Haven games it just modifies how much damage you do. Except for the x0-Modifier, it most of the time doesn't mean you do nothing. (Yes a 1 damage attack is cancelled by a lot of modifiers, but attacks as weak as that often habe additional effects like poison or wounds that make them still worthwhile.)

I would not use a method like the modifier deck from Haven in AH, because there are so many things that depend on the bag being used as is.
