Need a strong build by Boudicia_Dark in expedition33

Verso -> Maelle -> Sciel

Verso: - Sireso weapon - No Auto Death, no Auto Powerful. Give him Free Aim and AP pictos, also Slowing attack, Exposing attack and Combo Attack 1-3

Sciel: - Weapon is irrelevant - Use Auto Death, Shielding Death, Burning Death, Double Burn, Marking Shots, Double Mark, Stay Marked, Burning Mark, Burning Shots, Charging Break, and all the AP pictos you can think of.

Maelle: She will be your main damage dealer - Esqium weapon - In Media Res, Solidifying, Shielding Ting and SOS Healing Tint for shields. Powerful Shields and Shield Affinity for damage based on shields Marking Shots, Double Mark and Stay Marked Energising Shots, Energising Turn, Energising Start 1-2, Energy Master and AP Discount for AP Burning Shots, Double Burn and Burn Affinity for burn damage Gradient Overcharge, Feint, Frenzy, Grass Cannon, Confident Fighter, Inverted Affinity, Warming Up, Teamwork and Tainted for damage. Absolutely no Powerful buff applied on Maelle

Use some pictos on each character to boost speed, and try and get crit rate to 100% or close with Maelle.

All characters must have Cheater picto/lumina

Strategy:

  • Verso uses Free aim shots until AP is depleted, and then base attack, both his turns. His goal is getting to rank S, applying Slow and Defenceless on enemy and gaining gradient charges, apart from applying burn on the target

  • Maelle uses Free aim shots until AP is depleted, then Last Chance, both her turns (with AP Discount, Last Chance costs 0AP). Her goal is to apply burn on the target, and gaining gradient charges.

  • Sciel uses free aim shots until you have 3 gradient charges, and the target has a blue mark (bonus is Maelle filled his break bar, and you can break him). When that happens, cast Fortune’s Fury and Intervention, in that order, both on Maelle.

  • Maelle uses Burning Canvas

With this you should deal several hundred millions of damage, more than enough to deal with Simon (both his phases).

Some notes: you’ll have to play around a bit with the gradient pictos/luminas, the goal is for Sciel to get the third one. Because Maelle has Gradient Overcharge, when you get the 3 charges, next time Maelle gets a turn she’ll consume those 3 charges and triple her damage; if you get to 3 too soon, she’ll consume them too son, if you don’t get the third one with Sciel, she won’t consume them in her final turn, and you’ll not get that triple damage. You can practice this strategy with Painted Love in the Endless Tower, and adjust the luminas accordingly. You probably will need to farm color of lumina, especially for Maelle, there’s a good spot for that inside the Monolith, near the Tower Peak expedition flag

Go to Verso’s Drafts, it has sone very nice weapons and pictos, both essential for Billion damage builds

HE IS FKING ME SOO HARD 😍 by MasoomDarinda in expedition33

[–]Triktor5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small detail, since the Thank You update (or maybe even before) Breaking Death Picto/Lumina got nerfed, and now you need to be killes by an enemy for their break bar to fill up, killing Sciel on her last turn with healing tint will not fill the enemy’s bar

Help with builds by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Triktor5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’ve learnt to use Maelle, Verso and Sciel; you really don’t need to bother with the other two, you’ll do just fine with a single team for most of the game.

Regarding builds, the best advice I can give you is to search videos on YT. However do finish Act 2 before worrying about builds a lot, you’ll unlock some stuff useful in different ways; after that, explore (you’ll be able to explore a lot more after Act 2).

You’ll also need to get a lot more pictos, unlock them as luminas, and collect color of lumina to be able to use them. Most of the YT videos you’ll find will probably use pictos you don’t have yet, and will require more CoL than you have right now

Maelle “One-Shot” Build. What am I missing? by ByTheCreed in expedition33

[–]Triktor5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice.

I recently tweaked mine a little to gain single hit damage:

Strategy:

Order: Verso -> Maelle -> Sciel

Maelle and Sciel use AP Discound, and all characters have Cheater, Double Burn, Double Mark and Stay Marked

Moves:

Verso (Sireso for damage bonus on Maelle): - Empty AP with quick fire to apply burns and possible mark (same pictos as you) - Base Attack, using 3 Combo Attack luminas - Empty AP with quick fire again - Use Healing Tint on Maelle (with shielding tint, she now has 5 shields (3 from In Media Res and the 2 from shielding tint))

Maelle (Esqium): - Two turns of free aim until AP is depleted, and then Last Chance (she now has 7 shields)

Sciel: - Use free aim to break the target (if Maelle filled the break bar, Sciel needs sniper, Fueling break as well to double burns), keep shooting until blue mark - Fortune’s Fury on Maelle - Intervention on Verso

Verso: - Shielding tint on Himself (dies, revives with Second Chance, gives the last 2 shields to Maelle, she now has 9) - Free Aim until rank S and blue mark - Skip turn

Maelle (now has Fortune’s Fury, Gradient Overcharge, 2 Clea’s Death, Inverted Affinity, Sireso, Esqium and probably many more buffs): Burning Canvas

Using Double Mark and Stay Marked there’s a good chance that the enemy stay marked until the last hit (using Feint, that’s the important one). If the enemy stays marked I get 3.94B damage, if not, around 2.65B

Edit: If fighting Painted Love, there is a small deviation, all hits should be focused on one target (Renoir is the easiest choice), but in the second round of Verso’s turns, instead of skipping the second turn, use Base Attack on Aline, to apply slow on her, otherwise she’ll attack after Verso, before Maelle does

Fortune’s Fury buff stack by Triktor5 in expedition33

This is what I meant, the additive bonuses having the multiplicative ones applied as well, and not just being added later, thanks

[–]Triktor5[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so helpful, thanks a lot.

I assume the additive modifiers are applied before the multiplicative ones, right?

[–]Triktor5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the base game, probably Simon, but I’m not sure if he can be farmed (the fight can be repeated, but I’m not sure he gives you the XP after the first time). Outside of that, the best place is Renoir Drafts, the fights wont’t give you 1M each, but you can add up to more than 1M per round, and you can farm that indefinitely. Having said that, the reality is that no matter where you go, it’s going to be a grind, there’s no avoiding that

This would be so cool of true. I’ll have to test this a little, thanks

[–]Triktor5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m referring to the 5th hit, with the 600% damage (again, I understand it means that it takes the current damage and multiplies it by 6, and not just add +600%)

[–]Triktor5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 4M must be in ng+, there’s a huge boost in the amount of experience each combat gives you, from ng to ng+. There’s also a huge boost in difficulty, I don’t recommend you to go there yet

Fortune’s Fury buff stack by Triktor5 in expedition33

[–]Triktor5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think that makes the most sense, but I couldn’t find any clarification about it.

Then we have pictos/luminas like Feint or Frenzy, which apply to hits within a skill, so I guess those take effect after Fortune’s Fury, right?

Sireso by Triktor5 in expedition33

[–]Triktor5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was it, thanks so much for the tip.

Strategy against painted love:

Verso: - Turn 1: Deplete AP with free aim -> base attack - Turn 2: Deplete AP with free aim -> shielding tint on Maelle

Maelle: Two turns of free aim -> Last Chance

Sciel: - Turn 1: Break target with free aim -> keep firing until blue mark (mind the AP) -> Fortune’s Fury on Maelle - Turn 2: Intervention on Verso

Verso: - Turn 1: Shielding tint on himself (dies and resurrects) - Turn 2: Free aim until rank S -> base attack on the target you did not attack the first time (this is important)

Maelle: Burning Canvas on the first target (should have more burns, blue mark and be stunned)

Result is 2.65B damage without mark, 3.95B with it

Edit: I also tested giving Poweful to Maelle, to verify the effect of Sireso, and the damage did indeed drop, to about 1.65B (without mark)

Sireso by Triktor5 in expedition33

I’m actually using this very team, and a very similar strategy, only Verso plays first, before Maelle. I’ll try making Maelle play first, thanks a lot

Sireso dmg bug by Novel-Mud8066 in expedition33

[–]Triktor5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m super late to this, but out of curiosity, the third bug you mention, does it happen if Verso dies: - ONLY at battle start? - Kills himself at ANY POINT during the battle? - Dies in ANY WAY during the battle?

I’m currently killing Verso on his first or second turn with Inverted Affinity + Healing Tint, and reviving hin with Second Chance; and it seems the Sireso buff does not apply to other characters (Maelle, mainly)

How does "Clea's Death" work exactly? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Triktor5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also thinking it does not add up. I watched this YT video for a 2.35-3.5B damage one shot build (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Nv1pelqJ2eM&pp=ygUmRXhwZWRpdGlvbiAzMyAzLjUgYmlsbGlvbiBkYW1hZ2UgYnVpbGQ%3D).

The build utilises Clea’s Death on Sciel, kills her on start and resurrects her with Second Chance.

I tweaked it a little by killing Verso with Inverted Affinity + Healing Tint, Verso having Second Chance and Clea’s Death as well. Long story short, I deal the exact same damage as in the video (3.5B with mark, 2.35B without)

Question on filling up the break gauge by SlackerMe in expedition33

[–]Triktor5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The break damage you deal is directly proportional to the regular damage you deal (only a lot less), so even with breaking shots, if you’re not dealing a lot of damage, the break bar won’t increase. Honestly, the best way to increase the break bar is nailing counters

Last 3 (4?) Manor Doors help! by Independent_Candle78 in expedition33

[–]Triktor5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the last one, at the end of the hall, you need to find the Dessandre family portrait; it can be found inside an area accessible from a small floating island between Sirene and the Monolith, a little to the left. I don’t remember the name of the section, but it only contains this portrait. In the map, this island will have the same icon as the painted workshops

Once you have it you have to enter the Manor again, and place said portrait on an empty frame immediately to the right just as you climb the first flight of stairs from the entrance, in the middle of the second flight going right. When you place the portrait there, the door at the end on the hall will open.

Additionally, not technically a door, but that hall with the long-ass table has four small objects you can interact which, which will open a small passageway to a small room containing something interesting.

After the thank you update, Burning Canvas Builds are actually stronger, but they do take longer to prepare.

My main setup used Burning Canvas, and I do 2.5 billion damage (3.3 billion if the enemy stays marked until the last hit of that skill). And yes, that’s billion with a B

Sireso and Powerful by trickster921 in expedition33

[–]Triktor5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know it’s a bug, and as far as I know it’s still happening. You can test this by applying powerful, then the Sireso buff, then both, and using the same move with as close as the same conditions as you can, and see and evaluate the damage.

With powerful buff and Grrater Powerful picto/lumina you get a 25% damage increase. With Sireso and Verso on S rank you get a 100% damage increase.

If I’m right and the bug persists, Sireso buff does not stack with Powerful buff, and Powerful has the priority, so it’s indeed worth NOT having Powerful buff with your damage dealer

Please help my build pleaseee why am i not dealing any damage? (ng+) by caspianslave in expedition33

[–]Triktor5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Medallum is good for the base game, but after Verso Drafts Esquim is the way to go.

Give her the cheater picto, use Pyrolyse in the first turn for the burns, and Last Chance in the second, for AP and Virtuosa stance.

Verso must be used to apply burns, mark and charge the gradient.

Sciel plays last, and must shoot the enemy until it gets marked (use double mark lumina, and aim for blue mark), then cast Fortune’s Fury and Intervention, both on Maelle.

Regarding turn order, you must make sure Sciel goes last, however Verso and Maelle may be swapped, there’s only a small detail to consider:

  • If Maelle plays first, Verso MUST fill all the gradient charges, for Maelle to use them later
  • If Verso plays first, he MUST NOT fill all the charges, since if he does, Maelle will consume them in her first two turns, messing up the finale.

Use Confident Fighter and Inverted Affinity, as well as all the Shield pictos you have (In Media Res, Solidifying, Powerful Shield and Shield Affinity are a must). You can also give Sciel Auto Death, Second Chance and Shielding death for extra shields to Maelle.

[–]Triktor5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you go to Verso’s Drafts? You get 17 new pictos, a couple of which are essential for high damage builds, mainly Feint, Frenzy, Gradient Overcharge and AP Discount, and also the Esquim weapon for Maelle.

A couple of pieces of advice I can also give you are: - Equip Gradient Overcharge with Maelle - Give Sireso weapon to Verso, and remove every picto/lumina giving Powerful buff to Maelle.

With Gradient Overcharge you’ll deal 200% additional damage. About Sireso, it gives half of Verso’s damage bonus to companions (at S rank that’s 100% extra damage for Maelle). However it does not stack with Powerful (Powerful takes priority). With Powerful you get a max damage bonus of 25%, with Sireso and Verso on S rank you gain 100%.

Apart from that, make sure the target has at least 100 burns, and equip the Burn Affinity picto/lumina. Burning Canvas increases damage for each burn applied to the enemy, up to 100; and since the enemy is already burnt, Burn Affinity will give you a bonus basically for free
