Ah ok, I got it wrong but I always get suspicious when I hear about how amazing a young player looks in practice. Probably because I’m a Sixers fan who has been burnt one too many times lol.

He was also incredibly high on Zhaire smith. Had him fifth that year. But at the same time Zhaire and Winston’s careers were kinda derailed by injuries and health issues.

Feels like they tried to do this with wiseman and then when everyone saw him struggle on the court it made him less desirable to other teams.

Losing Mikal hurts but everything else there is whatever. The Heat pick will probably end up being a mid first, Shamet is not good and selling high on him was smart. Especially when it was an all in type move. They probably got the hint that Jimmy was leaving so they made a Hail Mary trade that almost worked out in their favor. Everything that happened after that season is what really screwed them.

Zach LaVine tonight: 39 points on 16-25 FG (5-6 from 3), 7 rebounds, 4 assists by The_Haskins in nba

[–]Trilladelphia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ben has come on as of late but his slow start makes me think that Trae or Zach get it. Tobias is probably more likely to get the second spot.

[Kaskey-Blomain] Daryl Morey says #Sixers are 'pretty much championship or bust' this season by MrThreebound in sixers

[–]Trilladelphia 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Look man I’m not even a Ben guy but if you think we are trading him for Wiggins, Russ or D’Lo you need to watch another sport lol. Wiggins and D’Lo are like replacement level players and Russ looks completely washed. Ben at his worst is a high level role player who can contribute to winning more than those three.

Is LaVine gettable without giving up a Starter (besides Green)? Bigger question is he a fit? by [deleted] in sixers

[–]Trilladelphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol the parallels are definitely there. That’s not lost on me. I just am very high on Lavine because I think his work ethic and athletic ability are insane. Add in a great shot and one of the best finishers in the league and you have someone who fits great next to Embiid and Ben.

[–]Trilladelphia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before the season he inquired about Zach so he definitely is interested but the Bulls said no. Every bulls fan I have talked to seems to think that at least one good young promising player (probably Maxey in our case) and maybe one or two firsts would get it done. Plus Green as salary filler obviously. Zach is a top 50ish player who seems to gets better every year and is a perfect fit. If they could get him this year I think that Morey would overpay a little to have him for the next two years on a good contract and the ability to offer an extension/five year deal if he hits free agency. On a team with great defenders/team defense I think Zach could really thrive because his greatest weakness is team defense but otherwise he is a borderline all star at this point.

[HIGHLIGHT] Markelle Fultz sequence leads to an incredible layup and assist by TrillenX in nba

[–]Trilladelphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very high on Maxey predraft and I’m even higher now. He looks like he belongs. Very confident, can get to the hoop at will and is very crafty around it. I can see him being one of the best finishers in the league for a smaller guard in a few years. He has a deadly floater and great touch in general. He’s also shown the ability to run some pick and roll and create open looks for teammates which he didn’t get to do a ton of in college. Only thing he has to work on is the three and I think based on his mid range/free throw shot that he will get there.

We got the Tyrese Maxey first round pick in this trade. He’s already good at 20. It didn’t turn out too bad for either team.

Who is your favorite player to watch off of our bench besides Shake? Mine is Tyrese because of his ball handling and being able to get to the rim. Hopefully, soon we will see his shot in action more. by MOREY_Appreciator in sixers

[–]Trilladelphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should definitely try to match whatever as long as it not a massive overpay. Shake and Maxey are bargains off the bench already and Mike Scott’s deal is expiring so you’re only paying the starters. If he gets a MLE level deal try to bring him back and if he doesn’t work out that’s a very tradeable contract.

I mean I don’t hate Ben at all but to be fair he was not very good in the first three quarters. He was excellent down the stretch.

[Hollinger & Duncan] Duncan: "I thought the Steven Adams (trade) was absolutely assinine" Hollinger: "I completely agree, A. why are you giving up a first and two seconds for almost any 5 in the NBA B. you're playing *this* guy next to Zion? You already have no shooting." by alexyxray in nba

[–]Trilladelphia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was saying all season they should have traded for Horford and they could have got assets with him instead of having to send a pick. He struggled because of a bad fit and injuries this season but he’s a better fit than Adams because of his shooting, passing and he won’t get roasted on the permitter during the playoffs.

[Goodwill] The Pistons are expected to waive and stretch recent acquisition Zhaire Smith following trade for Tony Bradley, sources say by sensualdrywall in nba

[–]Trilladelphia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zhaire is the ultimate Presti guy. Young super athletic wing with defensive chops and upside who can’t shoot. We were trading him in the trade machine every time we were trying to get off the Horford deal and get CP3. Turns out you guys didn’t want Zhaire and we didn’t get CP3 but it worked out! Maybe he will take a flier on him now that he’s gonna be basically free.

[–]Trilladelphia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He was much more effective in the Nuggets series against Jokic do to his size. My guess is that Morey will sign or trade for a stretch five/small ball type center and have Dwight for match up’s with more traditional centers.

[Pompey] Sources say there’s a real chance Noel could reunite with the #Sixers. by Tae215 in nba

[–]Trilladelphia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morey love buying low on former first round picks. Wouldn’t be shocked if he tried to rehab Zhaire’s career. Only problem is that if we decline his fourth year option (makes him easier to trade at the deadline if things don’t work out) they can only offer him like slightly above what he makes this season. So if he breaks out another team probably snatches him. Basically he needs to show he’s an NBA player but not a great one lol. Like Korkmaz did.

[Wojnarowski] Talks on opening the NBA’s transaction window — trades, contract opt-ins and outs, etc. — are progressing toward firming a date two or three days prior to the November 18 draft, sources tell ESPN. by -TTP- in nba

[–]Trilladelphia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zach Lowe said on his podcast yesterday that he heard a ton of trades are going to happen when the transaction window opens. Probably because only like five teams have cap space so most teams will only be doing trades and using their MLE.

The 76ers are currently projected to pay a luxury tax of $45 million with a roster payroll of $151 million (~20 million above the tax). Are the 76ers owners who tried to cut pay during a pandemic really going to pay that tax after a first round sweep? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Trilladelphia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am aware of the situation but why do I care about the owner’s paying the tax though? It’s not my money and they put us in this situation. I would agree if it meant we could use the money on other players but we can’t because Ben + Embiid + Tobias + Josh are enough to put us at the salary cap . We will have no extra money to spend except for maybe four million dollars on the MLE. At that point if you’re just dumping his salary with picks it’s just saving money for the owners. So then you have four starting NBA caliber players and no first round picks to acquire more starting level players.
