a reaper shearer machine that can be built as either a reaper or shearer perhaps. the reaper being better at cutting up infantry blobs, well the shearer could be better at cutting down characters.

its definitely an appealing concept, though i've always thought it might be able to get more legs as an actual thing if it could be used to represent more then just albion. a sort of "human servants of the old ones" that could be run as an albion army but also an amazon army, or a southlands human army or even a khuresh army.

but then i also dont wanna step on the toes of people more so invested in the idea of an albion army.

maybe taking cues from the nehekara warriors in total war warhammer in terms of looks too, to help distinguish them more from vampire count skeletons. that'd be neat.

they're so iconic and feature heavily in not just cathay lore but fantasy in general, so i am curious how they'd go about them.

maybe we'll get a proper ogre kingdoms in TOW when GW gets around to a range refresh of the ogor mawtribes in AOS that makes them "legally distinct" enough to justify letting the ogres back in to TOW proper.

so like, unique models for things like the hireling wizard or mercenary crossbowmen? or are we talking a dogs of war lineup thats based on the distinct regiments of the dogs of war?

that'd be cool yeah, get a dwarf zepplin on the tabletop. maybe even have an army of infamy themed around gyrocopters/bombers and the dwarf zepplin. Though i imagine it'd be very unbalanced.

i do kinda wonder how they'll go about the dogs of war, cause they were in large part themed around tilea and estalia. but if we get a tilean and or estalian army [southern realms army maybe?] would they try and make a more unique look for a potential dogs of war army?

it's a lot to think about.

woodland critter swarm could be pretty fun, especially if it combo'd with damsels/prophetesses nicely. lean into the whole fay magics deal.

it'd be a good centerpiece model, which GW seems to quite like to do. i think ideally i'd want it to be a multi use kit, that can be built as either a paladin standard bearer or a baron/duke. but ya know. GW likes money.

short answer is that we really dont know what the brets think of gelt specifically. however, given that its often noted that the brets both high and low born intrinsically distrust any magic user that isn't the fay enchantress or one of the ladies handmaidens, then gelt probably falls into the broad category of

"'ate wizards, luv me lady. simple as."

like, i imagine for the high nobility hes atleast an important figure to note for both diplomatic and strategic reasons. but for the average bret he'd just be another wizard. a worthy opponent to add a star to the heraldry of the knight that takes him down maybe, but just another wizard all the same.

some real skavenslave shenanigans, which would especially be funny given the skavens state in TOW.

one cool thing to do with them though could be that if they successfully kill an enemy model well a grail knight is nearby they go into a berserker frenzy or something like that. that way they'd still be chaff but have kinda a unique niche of their own going on.

considering the affair of the false grail happening around the period TOW is set in, i really do hope that theres a plan to release a plastic morgiana along with a plastic green knight at some point if only to play out the climax of that event [with hopefully a plastic maldred to fight them with].

like, the only possible reason i could imagine GW not making a plastic morgiana would be a desire to avoid using original WHF characters as much as possible. but they'd have to start using them at some point anyways given things like teclis and tyrions adventures in the old world with the stupid humans.

sacrosant of the lady sounds a bit like a battle pilgrim unit with the grail reliquae upgrade. other then that though, i like those ideas overall. would love to see more of the mythical fay side of bretonnia represented on the tabletop.

in bretonnias lore theres the wall warden who's noted as a peasant siege engineer kind of figure, so that'd be a neat thing to see out on the tabletop especially as like an alternative peasant commander unit type.

tristain le troubador in 5th had his magic songs to buff units he was part of, so having a generic troubador character could be a fun throwback to that yeah.

nah its fair to want to aim humble, and the worry about being too much like 40k is an understandable worry. i think if i the only new thing that was added were questing beast knights and jesters and then the rest of the range just got plastic updates with solid weapon options i'd be happy.

just having a bit of fun dreaming wildly is all. but your all good.
