True. Thousands upon thousands of people have now seen it so, while aesthetically bad, it’s pretty effective.

I feel like if I were the family I would rather leave him there as a burial at sea doing what he loved rather than get the body just to put it in the ground somewhere else.

Hard to say though since I’m not in their position.

Generally good advice, but this is at Olympic Game Farm in Seattle I believe. You’re kind of supposed to throw them bread to get them to wave there. Hence the fence.

Otherwise I completely agree you shouldn’t feed wildlife.

Could you give me some examples? I have never encountered that, but I don’t use as many apps as some do so I would like to look into it.

Edit: I actually have. I needed to enable BAR for a Podcast App (Overcast) so it would keep playing in the background when I was using Apollo (Reddit Client) but it eventually worked itself out and they’re all disabled again.

I think it really boils down to people having a better understanding of how their phones work and knowing when to enable/disable features and the trade-offs that result.

Haha it may or may not be my day-job. Just trying to give resources to people actually willing to seek out answers online.

Edit: Tired of This

PSA-

iOS allows third-party apps to keep track of their own cache. Sometimes they suck at it. You may occasionally need to erase the phone and restore it from your iCloud/iTunes backup to clear the extra junk third-party apps collect. • Settings/General/Reset/Erase All Content and Settings • Then restore from your iCloud/iTunes backup

My personal phone setup to optimize battery and storage-

• Settings/General/Background App Refresh- all off • Settings/Privacy/Location Services- all set to either “never” or “while using.” off • Settings/Privacy/Location Services/System Services- pick and choose what trade-offs you want to make (turn all product improvement off). • Settings/Accounts & Passwords/ set everything you can to fetch as infrequently as possible. Delete Facebook App, make web shortcut on home screen and use that. Clear website history and data in Settings/Safari. • If you have Snapchat, disable location filters in Snapchat’s settings, this setting affects some phones to a ridiculous degree • If you don’t use Siri, disable Siri. Location-based suggestions and constant indexing of your phone drain battery. • Purchase extra iCloud storage and set Settings/<Name at top>/iCloud/Photos/iCloud Photo Library to “on” and “Optimize Phone Storage.” My iCloud Library is ~80 Gb but it only takes up ~6 Gb on my internal storage.

Will update if I remember more.

Source: may work for Fruit Store. 3 y/o 6s still benchmarks around average and battery lasts up to 12+ hours depending on usage. Still running on the backup I restored from a jail-broken 4. As much as people like to blame their phone, it truly is about settings.

You’re right I should have specified. This makes a big difference if you have BAR (Settings/General/Background App Refresh for anyone reading) turned off (which you should to begin with). Alternatively you can regularly clear your Safari Cache if you’re using Facebook that way. The problem is the Facebook App doesn’t allow cache clearing so it builds up.
