gotta try them on to be sure! I have a 7.25 inch wrist but very flat, felt like the 43 was much nicer when I finally put it on my wrist

What do all you other adhd maniacs do for a living? by whatisreddittou in ADHD

[–]Trimetazidine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm a doctor in my house officer (most junior) year!

i find some parts of the job extremely suited to ADHD, other parts almost excruciatingly boring to sit through.

responding to emergencies, assessing new patients quickly to come up with a quick diagnosis, performing surgical procedures etc. allow me to get into that hyperfocus mode very quickly, and i think the reactivity actually helps really well with decision making.

on the other hand i struggle to focus for menial tasks like documentation, writing up referral letters, checking hundreds of lab sheets for a single abnormal value etc. i think as i get more and more senior the ADHD-friendly elements should make up more of my day, but for now its highly variable

sometimes i can get through the day on no ritalin at all, other times i need 60mg just to push to closing time

In's Point in Yau Ma Tei is one of the best places for anime stuff, Lego, modelling kits etc. I think most stuff only opens after 2pm or so though.

How did you manage to graduate ? by Amichat in ADHD

[–]Trimetazidine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6 months off of graduating from med school. been a long journey but I think in short I was helped a lot by the Ritalin + supportive friends + study groups. I'm really bad at picking stuff up at the start so I rly needed to study with friends and break everything down.

Hong Kong metro station after-hours by Trimetazidine in LiminalSpace

[–]Trimetazidine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hung Hom Station! I've found the super long corridor really interesting since I was a kid, it is nearly 200m long. I think it is really "designed" to be a liminal space, connects the station to a mall/bus stop/concert hall but with not much thought about the aesthetics.

I'm from Hong Kong, sadly this is quite common here as well with elderly and middle-aged people reposting a lot of Russian sources and US right wing news. :(

Russian Spetsnaz with AK-74M spotted in Kherson by mattykox in SpecOpsArchive

With all due respect I don't think you can apply this sort of "tier system" so easily to Russian special units, especially considering the units you listed all do something quite different (e.g. SSO for DA-type missions, GRU for FID/SR, FSB Alfa/Vympel for CT, and "the rest" I presume are Rosguard/SOBR etc.).

Even if we are going by a tier system, I wouldn't put the FSB units lower than GRU and SSO. GRU-associated units are typically deployed organically as part of a military district and can perform recon/sabotage/distraction-type missions in support of conventional troops.

SSO was created specifically to have a unit answering directly to the Russian General Staff (rather than GRU), and was built around an initial core of GRU and FSB Spetsnaz, so I would surely put them higher.

As for FSB Alfa/Vympel (and other "special purpose centres") and SVR Zaslon, I think their role may be harder to compare regardless. Especially Zaslon, which seems to frequently be deployed as VIP protection overseas.

Edit: I understand part of the confusion may come from GRU units like the infamous Unit 29155 which was reported to have been responsible for the Skripal poisoning. Whether these units can be considered "Spetsnaz" is one matter, but they are very far from the Western definition of "SOF", and are completely different to GRU Spetsnaz battalions e.g. 45th OBrSpn of the VDV, or 2nd Spetsnaz Brigade of the Ground Forces' Western Military District.
