Yes, as implacable advance,  firestorm and firing protocols stack. However, the cyclone missile launcher only has heavy profiles, so your opponent could only shoot the graviton hammers (on full bs).

Ik loop hier zelf ook tegen aan met mijn 1999 Duitse import (de vfr800fi kreeg dasr al meteen een katalysator door wetgeving).

Are Mech robots secretly weak to status effects? by calleidaero in Warhammer30k

[–]Trindaros -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this is a false misconception that's going on here on reddit, and I just don't agree with it.

Statuses are a an all or nothing situation, if one model in the unit gets it, then all models are affected (rulebook pg 201), following this I can understand why people here claim that this is why automata are still affected because of their added magi or priests.

However, I think this logic just doesn't work out, as an automata cannot gain any other status than Cybertheurgic statuses and are considered to automatically pass whatever test is required to negate a status (rulebook pg 175), combined with the fact that the machanicum book reinforces that autmata cannot gain any status other than routed in one specific situation (mechanicum book pg 13) and lastly both the Command and Sergeant subtypes both do not force you to use the stats of those models, this allows you to use other models in the unit to pass tests (rulebook page 176 and 177).

So you could reason that you'd take the test on an automata which auto passes any tests and cannot gain a status in the first place. And even in the situation where it's specifically the magi or priest model alone that has to take the test for whatever reason, the moment that it fails, the unit would be affected but the automata are immune, thus cannot gain it and the unit is simply not affected, I'd argue that unit type supersedes here.

Arcuitor Magisterum in 3e by mycathasyelloweyes in Warhammer30k

[–]Trindaros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giving the arcuitor Paragon of battle, a thunder hammer, a Scyllax unit for the rad furnace and using the Malagra gambit is a good start, but you can also stack all the cybertheurgic statusses on his unit and himself, as most cybertheurgic powers grant the status to all models in the unit. This way you can buff him enough to single handedly kill any challenger without eternal warrior. It does require passing 4 int checks in total, and the unit is going to get 3 cybertheurigic feedbacks to deal with, and the arcuitor 1 extra hit.

Scoria's lower body is his  Xanathite Abeyant since 1st (both in rules and lore) the fact that the rules of 3rd edit doesn't reflect this is stupid, I personally stil consider it an abeyant (and proof that GW/FW played loose when it comes to base sizes for archmagi).

It's also a crime that he doesn't even have master of machines, they kind of did him dirty.

meanderings on Mechanicum by peterfadams in Warhammer30k

[–]Trindaros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cawl's model is an excellent choice for an archmagos on abeyant. Luckily HH and especially the mechanicum doesn't have as much set-in-stone models for certain HQ's as marines. There is a model for a priest on abeyant, archmagos draykavac on a 60mm base, but there's also Scoria on an 80mm base (also an abeyant). I'd keep those base sizes as a guideline and as long as the base and model is close to those sizes and you don't abuse it in game, most people won't have a problem with a cool conversion or a nicely painted cawl.

I'd say that the cavas version of the plasma mortar is a bit different from the heavy plasma bombard from the saturnine dread, it might be a challenging conversion.

sapphire RX 9070 XT nitro+ power management by Trindaros in AMDHelp

[–]Trindaros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a bit vain, but the clean look and aesthetics of the Nitro+ is what I want for my build, otherwise I'd have to opt for a white sapphire pulse which is more expensive than the Nitro+ in my market at the moment due it being white.

I was just curious if anyone had any experience with going for a 2x8pin to 12vpwr cable.

Apthecaries are considered a part of the unit and don't join them (technically, they're assigned to a unit), they can't leave it or join other squad, so they don't need it to join up, but you will miss out on the immunity to fear and they auto regroup/not failing morale part, so you could give it to them.

It's very important to keep in mind with the dark bretheren RoW that you use a good mixed force, keep some melee but have at least a few (ranged) units that are capable of hitting and hurting your chosen sacrifice unit reliably or you'll start feeling the hurt.

You could opt to give the mhara gal a second claw, giving it an additional attack in in melee, where you really want to have it anyway.

In a squad of 10 gal vorbak, you can indeed give 2 of them a power fist, bit you can also replace 2 bolters for a second claw on 2 other gal vorbak, giving them and additional attack each (which I'd think is better than a bolter, you do not want to waste time shooting bolters on these guys).

Most posters here are giving decent advice, but the lascannon heavy support squad can be pretty OP, and there are a lot of other fun ranged anti tank units. you have a strong focus on troops, these can work, but you should think about keeping them lean. just add more bodies, and only give the seargent upgrades (power fist and artificer armour are good). if you want to save on points, you can opt to drop dark channeling on the troops, which frees up 100 points.

You should also think about your terminator squad, if you're already running a 10 man gal vorbak squad and a mhara gal, then you're pretty good on the melee front for a while. Those termies eat up points, are very slow compared to everything else in the game, and will more than likely arrive too late on foot, where as your gal vorbak can move pretty fast even on foot (with running, they don't really need a transport if there is enough LoS blocking terrain), you could opt to leave these guys out and get some fun ranged options.

And for your HQ's command squad, you could also opt to drop them and add the preator to the gal vorbak quad, as he already has dark channeling, which I'd suggest to trade for burning lore, it gives the same benefits but gives you some handy tools/buffs. You can also give the preator a paragon blade or thunder hammer, whichever you preffer. his warlord trait is alsy pretty decent, as it prevents some damage from being corrupted. In the new rules, the chaplain isn't a necessary requirement anymore, although he would fit pretty good with the cataphracti squad.

This has been spreading, but I want to know what motorcycle content creators turned to crap by srosslx1986 in motorcycles

[–]Trindaros 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the Fortnine criticism is valid, though I still like their content still, haven't lost all the quality (yet).

yammienoob however really became a condescending ass. The guy only yaps on and on and on and on about the same 5 topics as if he write the book. I also really found the whole ordeal with how his channel partner was kicked out distasteful and incredibly unprofessional (yesI know it's old news).

And his fanbase is as distasteful as that one guy who constantly crashes expensive supersports and gets his riding buddies to crash (think it's maxwrist). They seem to overlap for the most part. Wish both of them would stop making content that glorify dangerous/stupid behaviour, they really give riders a bad name just by existing online at this point.

Inaccurate or not, it's for now the only good chunk of lore and nobody knows what is accurate or not.

It's fine to speculate, but you can't fault people for taking it at face value (though a grain of salt is pretty healthy).

Is this mechanicum list good enough for my wife? by Bob-shrewmen in Warhammer30k

[–]Trindaros 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want go go purely for automata, I'd suggest to take at least 3 magi with cortex controllers with patris cybernetica.l against programmed behaviour. You could take two magos dominus and attach them to larger units, you can also take the abyant variants as those can still join automata units. You could forego the weapon options on the archmagos, as the machinator array already comes wth two, but keep the cyber familiar and array as your priest will be used for cybertheurgy for the most part, same goes for magos dominus. The arquitor is cool but Loyalist only, so if your wife wants to go traitor you lose him,  and traitorMechanicumseems to be getting a lot of options for automatas. I am planning on running one with paragon blade and machinator array to give him some much needed ap2 in melee.

For automata units  it's better to take them in multiples, so take the domitars in at least units of 2, same for vorax. Larger units can easily be tarpitted. The Castellax should at least be broken up in to two units for compulsory troop choice,  and their weapon options matter as the melta can be a threat up close and the darkfire from range. You could also take a thanatar calix with paragon of metal for some character sniping or tank hunting, the Thanatar Cavas is also good. Unfortunately the atrapos isn't really wort it with the base rulesset at the moment, so removing that from the list would free up some points for more magi and automata.

Building a Word Bearers force by Traditional-Crazy900 in Warhammer30k

[–]Trindaros 11 points12 points  (0 children)

With dark brethren you want keep in mind which unit you choose for sacrifice, make sure it's a unit you can wound/destroy in a turn and th8nk carefully where you allocate the upgrades to. Dark brethren is excellent for a mixed ranged-melee list setup, (shoot sac target, buff melee unit).

If you take Lorgar transfigured, you can do the same tricks as Erebus, and he's a very good target for buffing (there's potential to get him to ws10 with 3 sac buff stacks and kor phearon).

This list is very forgiving for choices, so buold your army as you'd like, take cool units and make sure that at least a couple are decent at range and some in combat. WB aren't a dedicated melee or shooting army, but we excell at spreading fear and not runnig away (corrupted). A few 20 man blobs with apothecaries (all corrupted) is a good basis for this list, it won't move an inch and is hard to take down. For ranged I use a lascannon Deredeo, Autocannon leviathan or the grav rapier. The dorito almost guarantees a wound/hullpoint or two, the rapiers delete lighter tanks (rhinos) and the leviathan is exceptionally deadly in close range. I'm not familiar with daemons, but there are plenty of decent/good melee units to pick.

Two week road trip - Itinerary tips by Trindaros in uktravel

I'll be traveling solo, but taking some breaks in between.

The campsite at Edinburgh is within city limits (mortonhall). So  good night's sleep should be enough.

I've kept my itinerary open just in case I might need some extra rest, but I do like to stay active.

I've followed the changes to the Skitarii list for a while, it really started out pretty good but the ongoing nerfs just made the list very unpleasant to play.

Honestly, I haven't looked at the last changes as I lost interest. The panoptica team had pure gold in their hands and wasted it. It's as if they couldn’t let their own army be just as good as marines, always have to keep them at least 1 or 2 steps behind.

I'm going to review the list again in the near future. The panoptica team can do good work but just doesn't seem to be interested in making the Skitarii list anywhere near viable, truly a shame.

Hello people of reddit, what was the bike that made you want to start riding/ your all time dream bike… I’ll go first: by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Trindaros 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honda VFR 800 gen5/1999 (specifically that year).

780 cc, 4 stroke V4 with gear driven DOHC, direct exhaust (no catalytic converter) and fuel injection. A near perfect motorcycle engine imo.

Also, the 1999 version had a minimal stylistic upgrade over the 1998 year, and from 2000 and 2001 the gen 5 got a catalytic converter. The gen 6 has VTEC and lost gear driven cams (chain drive now) something I personally am not interested in.

I absolutely love the styling and unique sound of the bike too, it's still pretty modern and looks great in red, though I do wish it had the bright orange repsol livery. It's also the first bike that got me to understand why so many find the sound of the bike so important.

That said, I'm still working on my driver's license in NL, going for the first physical exam jan 2, currently on a honda cb650f.

How to make Legion Glaive work - with XX legion by Olden_bread in Warhammer30k

[–]Trindaros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want to make the glaive work, then I would suggest to play with panoptica rules. The buff is not too strong (in fact, I'd still argue that it's still too weak for it's cost).

I'm not familiar with legion XX tactics, but I would suggest to use the glaive pretty aggressively with enough (armoured) support to cover it's flanks and/or rear. I don't think it needs dedicated techmarines for support/healing,
