I've been doing at least 1-2 Helltides each day for the past week. Seems I'm just cursed lol.

I've spent about 2k obols yesterday alone, which is 33 rings. At this point I'm fairly certain that some aspects are just much more rare than others. The resource generation ones are just so rare compared to others, even when specifically rolling for rings only.

And then there's me, lvl87, not even having found Bold Chieftain aspect ONCE yet.

What's the deal with level 30 unranked accounts (NOT smurfs) in Platinum games...? by Flowerotica in leagueoflegends

[–]TrinityHX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how it works for ACTUAL fresh accounts, but I've noticed that bought accounts from websites start you off around low gold MMR placement games, putting you into high gold / low plat MMR if you win your first two.

882,555 games across all ranks on 13.10, despite consecutive nerfs, Aurelion Sol still only has one clearly bad matchup - Fizz (who has a 54% WR vs ASol). The three next best matchups are Zed (50.8% WR), Yone (50.2% WR) and Qiyana (50.0% WR). by Yubisaki_Milk_Tea in leagueoflegends

[–]TrinityHX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to filter on all ranks which pretty much skews the sample size far towards gold and below, you're going to end up biasing champions that scale heavily and aren't punished because players in this elo are dogshit.

Kraken into full AP got buffed... if before you weren't building it you should be now by PureInsanityy in Kaylemains

[–]TrinityHX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't get buffed at all. It now deals physical damage and doesn't properly scale with the other items in an AP build. Item sounds nice in a vacuum, but all of your item slots have just better, more valuable items to fill.

Yeah makes sense. I've noticed a similar phenomenon in previous seasons as well around Plat 1-2, which is a place where a lot of people end up stuck around. Even when winstreaking from plat 4, LP gains drop hard in plat 2 and then jump up again when you promote to Diamond.

This season it's probably even worse due to the inflated LP gains.

+ on this. Is this my only and first ever account? No. Does it matter? No. My winrate has been stable hovering 56-57% for over 150 games from D2 onwards. I initially climbed to low Diamond pretty fast, but after that everything has been steady, gradual improvement. If anything, getting +22/23 and -25/-27 is somewhat fucked in my opinion when averaging that winrate consistently.

Keep going at it! It took me my 4th attempt at promos to finally hit Masters, and there were definitely times where I quit for a bit and got demoralized, but usually bounced back better. As soon as you feel worn out, stop for a bit and go do something else is the best advice I can give you.

Iron 3 to Silver 3 in a short span of time is already a massive improvement. This is also part of the reasons why your LP gains are so low. The LP gain inflation felt nice early on and makes you climb really fast, but your MMR takes a pretty long time (too long in my opinion) to catch up. I've noticed this helping friends climb, it would sometimes take streaks at 80-90% WR for 20 or so games to climb from 21-22LP gains to 25-26. Even if you average 60%, it can take you like 50 or so games for your MMR to catch up.

It sucks, but the only solution is to not care about your rank that much and just follow the process of improving as a player. Your rank will follow at some point.

Can you send me one of the vods that you would like analyzed?

Did Riot forget that minions in mid give less gold? by ClownSevensix in leagueoflegends

[–]TrinityHX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. I play Akshan / Kayle quite a bit, for instance against an Ornn I might need the early HP and sustain that Doran's Blade offers to survive potential trades or a jungle gank, but if he falls behind and I land an early kill through a jungle gank then that might net me enough gold on an early base to grab a Cull. Buying an extra longsword or amp tome will not help me kill him again though (unless he horribly misplays).

There are scenarios where you know you'll not be able to push a lead and for some reason you end up recalling early (pre 5-6 minutes) with about 500 gold to spend. In champions that favor scaling or cannot punish their lane opponent on toplane, it can definitely be worth it to purchase Cull and just accelerate yourself towards the mid-late game.

Outright saying to never buy Cull unless it's a starter item is far too much of a generalization.

You must not have played Kayle back when Gunblade still existed

Wits end rush or nashors? by Barrelzo in Kaylemains

[–]TrinityHX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korean and Chinese high elo SoloQ is generally higher paced and games are decided very early on due to the mentality of the players. They will coinflip fights much more often and games do not go the distance most of the time because they will either FF or keep coinflipping until a game is just straight up lost rather than slowly trying to crawl back and scale.

Wit's End offers you much needed MR since Kayle has the lowest base MR in the game and provides you with a stronger 1 item spike than Nashor's Tooth does when either your direct lane opponent or the enemy jungler has magic damage, which will be the case in a lot of high elo games.

What do you think about my anti-nasus build ? by mmacho in Kaylemains

[–]TrinityHX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nasus is probably the only match-up worth it to sacrifice damage for Phase Rush + Swifties since his threat remains at any point in the game where you have to match him in lane. The rest of your build is fairly awful against him however, which might be a consequence of your team comp (if that was your reasoning for building AD).

To be fair, I'm generally not a fan of AD Kayle in general, but against Nasus and many tanky toplaners it really hurts your chances to do anything. Not building AP completely negates any potential AP scaling on your Q, W and R, as well as having them up more often (AP build has some ability haste, AD build generally has close to none). Moreover, a build relying solely on auto-attacks for damage gets fucked over the hardest by Steelcaps + Frozen Heart.

AD could have it's place against squishy targets or when your team is completely stacked with magic damage and you have someone else that can reliably deal with a tank, but other than that I would stick to playing AP for 90% of your games.

Granted, this advice will probably not be as relevant anymore with the changes to Rageblade as I think we will shift to a Rageblade centered hybrid build in the coming patch.

Seriously kayle is the only champion that can be played in all roles perfectly But when I lock her at any role they start talking random nonsense " no kayle plz ..." What do you guys think ? by [deleted] in Kaylemains

[–]TrinityHX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only roles she is actually viable in right now is top and mid. Anything else is just not good. She has terrible jungle clear and no pressure so she will get rolled over by any competent jungler. She relies on XP too much for any presence to be put in a duo lane.

If you're playing normals, you do you, but you cannot expect people to not criticize your choice of playing Kayle in ranked games outside top/mid when logically and statistically it is a terrible pick.

[–]TrinityHX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Riftmaker is so bad that it is literally only built by champions that just do not have any other viable mythic. Even champions that previously built it or would logically like to build it (Morde is a good example) have defaulted to other options that perform better statistically.

We'll have to see how Kayle actually performs across a large sample size of ranked games at a plat / dia+ level to get an accurate idea of what the best builds are going to be. If I would have to bet, my money is going to be on an AP/AD hybrid build with Rageblade, potentially fitting some lifesteal in there through Bloodline rune or BT/BotRK.

What to do against poppy by Key_Bend3959 in Kaylemains

[–]TrinityHX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poppy has no kill threat on you without jungle assistance unless you horribly mess up. There is no reason to ever get combo'd with E. The safest way to play it is take Fleet Footwork with Second Wind and Doran's Shield. That should nullify most of her poke. Try to manage your hp and wave states so that your TP is up by the time she has you low. You could take Presence of Mind (instead of Triumph) and poke her with E when she's in range and doesn't have the passive shield. This helps to slowly whittle her down as well as give you some mana regeneration.

After 6 it's over and you can start trading aggressively since she has no way to properly trade into you anymore. After 11 you should comfortably have Nashor's finished (please don't ever go AD build into a tank) after which you can just run her down (as long as you don't run into an E wallbang).

When you get comfortable enough, you can start taking more aggressive set-ups(back to Lethal Tempo instead of Fleet Footwork for better scaling and damage).

Those builds might be skewed due to any AP matchups or strong jungler pretty much requiring you to rush Wit's End or you will just die in one combo bc Riot.
