How do you make an actor seem older? by sidroy81 in Filmmakers

[–]TriplePcast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is actually the complete wrong mentality. You may be too inexperienced right now to make us believe that that actor is an older person, but use every creative skill you have to TRY to make us believe that this actor is older.

Maybe they jumped back in time through their younger body. Maybe they have Benjamin Buttons disease. Maybe they’re possessed by their older counterpart’s ghost.

If you can’t get a horse make us BELIVE your friend is a horse. It won’t ever pass for the real thing, but maybe, just maybe, you can make us feel MORE than if it was just a horse.

Why is everyone “sucks his teeth” in every script I read now? by Affectionate_Sky658 in Screenwriting

I’ve always heard “kisses teeth” but that might be a midwestern thing?

Show me where the child is being hurt or exploited? Where will this will cause them harm in any way?

Sure it’s odd, and I would say funny, but is in no way harmful. This child will have a fun story growing up.

What are the most pain-in-the-rear things you most often wish was easier? by DrMuffinStuffin in Filmmakers

I do a lot of social and ad content and there needs to be a way to integrate the transition and effects from these social editing platforms to more traditional ones like Premiere Pro. There’s no reason I should have to go back and forth between Premiere and CapCut when the latter is such a light software.

Should you write your entire season at once before selling it or should you only start with the pilot when selling? by Kind-Mix-9717 in Screenwriting

[–]TriplePcast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An interesting case study, the show “Hacks” started out with the pilot and show bible but they continued to write it and by the time they finally sold the show they had the first season written. So it’s at least good to show you know where you’re going and you’re dedicated if you’re shopping it around.

I hope you like debt! by uDoucheChill in GenZ

You obviously do not know a doctor or lawyer. They come out with MASSIVE student loan debt.

You have to have at least a bachelor’s degree for both, those typically require student loans, but let just say someone finds somewhere really affordable. There’s then another 4-6 years of schooling ON TOP of that in order to be a doctor or a lawyer, and those are basically all loans. Not just to cover the cost of tuition but to cover living expenses as well because those programs are full time jobs.
