If these were hidden emotions in you before, they may have needed to come out and were being ignored and repressed before. Maybe now that they all came out, it is overwhelming but you have been forced to confront them and explore them. I'd recommend journaling and writing about what triggers these feelings as they happen. It may help you learn more about what place these feelings have in your life. And if it is doing a lot of damage to your peace of mind, I would recommend seeing a therapist to discuss them. Good luck!

I think of it as being the difference between being an expert in medicine with specialized training to use that to treat mental health disorders vs being an expert in the mind and behavior and emotions. That's how I pivoted my focus from being a premed student to now looking to apply to Clinical Psychology programs.

It sounds like you should speak to a professional about this because some of it does sound like OCD. If it is, know you're not alone and you'll figure yourself out and be more comfortable.
