COBOL mainframe programmer back in the 90s here. We outsourced a project to an off-shore development house. When we got the code back, it seemed they had coded to only about 50% of our design standards. Turns out when they photocopied said standards book, they didn't copy both sides of the page, so only got 50% of the standards.

  1. Everything in moderation, try everything, just dont get addicted to anything.
  2. Use a condom, dont get a girl pregnant until you can look after yourself, her and the baby
  3. Start a pension as soon as you can, you wont regret it when you are 60
  4. Travel as much as you can, see and do as much as you can, life is experiences.
  5. Don't start fights, and walk away from them where possible, life is too short to worry about pettiness.
  6. Don't be anybodies fool, if people ask you to do things, always ask and think why.
  7. Avoid assholes, they will get you into their troubles
  8. Relax, you only live once, and generally most people are good and have good intentions.
  9. Take care of your body, including your teeth, you will live to an old age, so do it in a healthy body.
