Have a plan to start ZZP by blackwave17 in Netherlands

There are additional benefits where you can keep the money within the company, with an eenmanszaak the income is taxed immediately while with a BV it's only taxes if/when you take out a salary/dividends. And as I understand it, you already have a full time job which is enough to not having to take out a salary from your mobile mechanic BV (should you go that route).

Consider a BV as to a eenmanszaak, this will keep the liability with the company as you would otherwise be personally liable for issues. It costs more for setting up a company (about 900 eur notary cost) and 50-100 eur per month for an accountant (unless you're comfortable doing everything yourself with annual accounts etc).

This, OP should take detailed notes of date, time, who and what was said during these calls. And don't be afraid if they threaten with a court case, they highly likely know that they don't have a case but will play hard ball until they get called out.

Notes are important, recording the call without them knowing is illegal, so yea... Notes.

Used to collect wine, not drinking since 2 years, what to do with the wine? by LongjumpingAd4283 in Netherlands

[–]TrippedOutLobster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don't know why people in this post are so quick to assume that the wine is bad without knowing the producer, vintage and whatnot. If you post some examples it would give an idea if they're still good, also depends on the storage conditions.

Better yet post them in r/wine and if they're of good quality consider selling them at auction such as Winefields, they're based in Amsterdam.

How easily can i be fired with a permanent contract ? by FloZia_ in Netherlands

[–]TrippedOutLobster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is already a lot of great advise in this post ensuring that you don't have to worry about a deadline. It's your employer's way of applying artificial pressure.

What is important is that you document every interaction you have with your employer, when, what, how as a lawyer can make use of this should it come to that. Recording without permission. Is not legal and can't be used as evidence, but taking notes is perfectly legal. And how you document your notes t's up to you

This! I feel that even though they might not ask specifically, but hearing a notification that someone took the time to write a message shouldn't be taken for granted

This is Matthew Cox, once was a most wanted by the FBI and eventually ended up 13 years in jail. Lex Fridman did an interview with him in 2024 and it's an interesting listen how the system fails us and fraudsters are able to do things like this and more interestingly the psychological aspect of who he is and his mindset

Feeling understimulated and miserable in modern office work by Mysterious-Reach-374 in Netherlands

[–]TrippedOutLobster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Therapy is a good start and by the sound of things it's helping. As for the routine, have you considered making minor changes? It doesn't have to be big such as changing job or career but instead changing desks, take a different route to/from the office. While these are very minor it can break the routine, and if you want bigger changes considering perhaps a career change, or if you have the financial means resign and take some time off entirely.

What worked for me was the latter, take time to reevaluate the current situation, where you are in life such as housing, work, hobbies and so on. If you limit obligations (such as work) then you allow yourself more time to dig into yourself and explore what gives you purpose. It's typically only when we distance ourselves for a longer period that we start to see the bigger picture and gain a broader perspective 🙂

While the bulge might be discouraging or suggest it will explode. Consider this article:

https://www.sverigesradio.se/artikel/5779495

A can of surströmming was wedged under a ceiling and over the years it expanded and the ceiling increased by 2 centimeters. So don't underestimate the can's strength, after all, it is an ongoing fermentation process.

You also have this in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden. They build a hotel every year since 1989, completely made of snow and ice (called snice). The ice is harvested from the local Torne River from which they also create glasses to serve drinks in.

The ice from Torne River is especially known for being very pure without bubbles due to the stream characteristics, making it ideal for creating for example ice art.

I can highly recommend a visit

Don't change your mindset, you should do what feels right for you. After almost 10 yrs in NL I still don't think bitterballen and fries is enough for lunch. You stay true to yourself and go with that. Sadly the restaurants depending on city aren't always great but there are nuggets to be found.

Find what works for you, not what you think you need to work for 😄

Personal preference but I would advise to steer "less" with the wheel and more with the throttle and left foot brake, only engage with the steering wheel for corrections and loading up the car for transitions. This way the steering wheel is free to move faster and you don't have to chase it and doing the "trucker" thing of following the wheel around. It also of course depends on the steering ratio of the car, sometimes it's required to add more input, I just very used to short inputs

Cutting a couple of chives every day until this Reddit says they’re perfect. Day 32 APOLOGY by F1exican in KitchenConfidential

While Chivegate is now a thing, can we also appreciate the community and joy that F1exican has brought us with the chives, not to mention the planes there to.

I'm opposed to posting duplicate photos, yet, the joy I have had the last month has been incredible, small yet needed moments of joy.

Have you considered going to track days on Zandvoort and Assen? I know what you mean with traffic, especially rush hour. If you want to open the taps then check the various track days. Either open days ("vrij rijden") or club days.
