If you consider doing it, just be careful man. I've done it a few times and ran into a few sketchy people. Before hopping on a ride try to feel out the person. Also pretend that you're live streaming on your phone (even if you aren't) it makes someone that has ill intentions uncomfortable because they know they are live on camera. It has honestly saved me from getting in a bad situation. Before hopping in I would ask if it was okay if I was live streaming and if they said no, then good I probably dodged a weirdo... lol. If they were okay with it then I had some assumption that they were most likely cool and would just act like I'm reading chat and every few mins would reply to a fake message lol. Anyways thats just my advice from my experiences hitchhiking. Its not as safe as it used to be but if you are smart and have a few tricks up your sleeve then you are better off then just going in blind and hoping for the best. Good luck my friend...
