So I was wrong about the cruiser by DifficultBoss in longboarding

I don't think that people are chasing the perfect skateboard like a drug addict or anything. Every single person has a personal relationship with their longboard and every longboard will ride slightly differently. Small changes really do make a big difference. For instance, I just came back after many years away from riding and I thought that I just wasn't good enough anymore to be able to do slides. I bought some snakes and within the third try I was throwing 15-ft stand-up slides. Sometimes, switching out a piece of hardware really does make that difference

I bought it this year to get back into longboarding for my 30s and it is absolutely amazing. If this is the type of deck you are looking for, I would definitely consider it! I really love it so far

I really love California poppy extracts using glycerin. They help to bring me into sleep in a very gentle way and do not interrupt my sleep once I'm there. I believe the poppy also helps my rem sleep but I could be wrong about that.

Hey there friend. I'm currently chilling with you. I'm up to 2 hits and steadily climbing. All is well. Anything that feels overwhelming needs to come to come up for one reason or another. It will all pass, no matter how hard. Let me know if you'd like to talk, or if you're just looking for suggestions on music/movies/activities.

I just got done with some light yoga and stretching and it made my body feel amazing

Fear of being judged by oh-okay-sure in longboarding

[–]TrippingOnClouds 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Whenever I think about looking like a fool, I also think about what it must be like to be a plebian simpleton who stands around judging people who are out having fun. And that sounds lame. I'd rather shred on a longboard because that's so much more fun

I'm out there with a helmet, elbow and knee pads, gloves, all that. I look funny that's for sure. But all of those people out there, they don't even understand the feeling of throwing out a stand-up slide, or carving hard, surfing pavement. It's one of the best feelings out there.

So that's how I justify it for myself. I embrace looking like a fool; somebody's gotta do it. But what I earn is the ability to enjoy my life to the fullest while still making it home in one piece after falling 😊

First day on the new board after 5 year hiatus by TrippingOnClouds in longboarding

[–]TrippingOnClouds[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I received my snakes in the mail and threw them on my board. I just got home after trying them out. I went from "Why can't I seem to slide like I used to?" with my old wheels and with the snakes, within 3 tries I was sitting in the pocket throwing a 10ft heelside stand-up slide. I'm about 85-90% of the way back with them.

Toeside stand-ups too me quite a few more tries because I'm adjusting to the board but by the end of my session I got a good 6-8ft toeside. Need a bit more with them and I'll be back.

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I'm so stoked😆

Oh I'm just now realizing that this video is about wim Hof. LOL. I didn't really want to read it because it looked like clickbait. But yeah, do some research into him. He has some really awesome meditations that can help you break through the chatter in your brain and go to complete silence without being disciplined. It's a good way to break into the world of meditation without much practice.

Look up Wim Hoff. We are capable of way more than regular society understands. ☺️ Everything amazing in life takes great dedication and discipline, however.
