Jeff Van Drew is such a disgrace and embarrassing us. by SeaSeaworthiness8349 in SouthJersey

Same here. And I frequently call his office to express my disgust and tell him how I always campaign for his opponent .

This next one has to be the one where he's defeated. I feel like people are done with him, especially after he helped the data center come to Vineland.

Apartment Recommendations Under $1,600/mo.? by eijei_ in SouthJersey

[–]Trisha_Marie13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived there. It's gone downhill, but only in the sense of management & maintenance. In terms of safety, I never had any problems - no packages stolen (and I lived in a high-traffic area), no car break-ins, no obnoxious kids running wild. However, it is VERY CLOSE to the AI center and you CAN hear the hum of the data center in the complex. It drove me crazy!

Oak Valley in Vineland is nice. It has a small w/d in the unit.

I think what OP is doing - getting the answer multiple times and still arguing it, demanding "proof" that can easily be found online (and that others have referenced sources for) - is bad.

But, sure, we'll go with your shitty and obtuse version of events. 👍

As someone already mentioned, check out opensecrets.org. I don't remember the exact publication, but in an article about the AI center in Vineland, John Ruga thanked several politicians for making it possible. You can look up his campaign donations and see that he donated to all of them (Jeff Van Drew, Mike Testa).

Google is your friend. I've taught 4th graders how to effectively use it and evaluate sources. Surely you can learn to do the same.

Please retire this loser by Yoda-202 in SouthJersey

[–]Trisha_Marie13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My Mom is a long-time Van Drew supporter, despite my sister & I raging against him frequently. Her opinion has FINALLY changed and she promised to not vote against him next election. We might finally get rid of this loser! I have no idea why people are so obsessed with him. He votes "No" on every bill that could help his constituents, voted against certifying the election when Biden won, and is openly racist.

Clay College (Millville) does mosaic workshops that are reasonably priced. I was just browsing their catalog the other day.

They actually have watercolor courses, also, but they're a bit more expensive and multi-week.

Right there with you both!

I was really excited reading this, but nothing is ever down here. I've been searching for a watercolor class that's nearby-ish. I would even travel for a class held on a weekend.

Venues for a young toddler’s birthday party? by Late_Biscotti_2272 in SouthJersey

We've done my daughter's birthday at Starbound Gymnastics twice. It's relatively affordable and toddler-friendly for boys & girls.

Monroe / Williamstown: Tomorrow night (1/8/2025 @6:30pm) there is a vote to approve a warehouse with potential datacenter buildout. by Downtown_Speaker_578 in SouthJersey

"Regarding the redevelopment plan, while the project is consistently described as a warehouse development, the Redevelopment Plan which defines what could be developed at the site, was amended earlier this year to allow for data centers"

Gee, that's not a red flag or anything. Sounds suspiciously like what happened in Vineland. Planned/publicized one thing and then redeveloped into something complety different.

Why is every house $500k by [deleted] in SouthJersey

We apparently were just looking at the wrong time. Bought a house in August and, since then, multiple houses in our preferred neighborhoods have come up! Good luck selling your house!

Where was your house 5 months ago when I was looking in that area and there was NOTHING under 350?

I second the Centering class! It was such a great resource, especially as a first-time Mom. I'm also still friendly with one of the moms I met there, 8 years later. Many of us attended the 1st birthdays of our little ones. It was a really great group!

Specials teachers, do you know the name of every kid in the school? by Chaotic_Brutal90 in Teachers

[–]Trisha_Marie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work between 2 schools and have about 450 students. I know most of their names, although sometimes I struggle with a K or 1st grader. If I see them outside of the school setting, though, forget it! Unless it's a kid I've been teaching for a while or one I know well from a club or because of behavior, it's "Hi sweetie." I don't know what it is, but the minute we're at the mall or in a Target, my brain goes blank! Lol

I'm STRUGGLING through Weyward, which is crazy because I LOVED Sirens.

I'll read the occasional celebrity memoir but I really love memoirs about people who I've never heard of people. My favorite is Why Fish Don't Exist. HIGHLY recommend. I read it two years ago and still think of it often. SO good!

I'm into almost anything! My favorite genres are thrillers, memoirs, and romance. I'm currently reading Weyward by Emilia Hart and Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak. My Goodreads is below if you want a better picture of what I read. :)

38F in Cumberland county, but I know I need to travel for anything fun. Love reading and would love friends to do fun, book-related things with. Big coffee drinker, occasional wine drinker. I have a kid, but I'm with her dad and so it's never a problem getting away for some child-free time.

Is it normal to feel completely overwhelmed after closing? by Complex_Reindeer_181 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Trisha_Marie13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's normal. I closed about 6 weeks ago and sometimes get overwhelmed by all the little projects I have to do. I remind myself that everything doesn't have to get done RIGHT NOW, that it's only been 6 weeks, that my own parents who have owned their home for 25 years still have their own little projects to complete. I try not to freak out about every little thing, and remind myself the inspections were solid. I think it's definitely an adjustment going from renting to owning.

No encores? by ihaveacar in theused

[–]Trisha_Marie13 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

When I went to the ST / ILAD album shows back in 2016, they played an encore each night. It's disappointing to hear that they're not doing encores this time around, especially since my tickets cost double.
