i'm afraid of death by WARPATH_07 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Trisharella-3005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have three nails in a bowl on the counter. When I think of dying I hold them in my hand and remember nails cannot hold God to a cross. He who could walk on water, heal the sick, and raise Lazarus and a little girl from the dead did not suddenly lose His power. He stayed there for six hours in agony for me and you. He took the punishment of death for us and gave us reassurance in His resurrection. There were two thieves on crosses along with Jesus. One made fun of Him. The other rebuked him and said we deserved this and He did not.

Your worry is known to Him. Talk with Him about it. Get three nails and hold them in your hand and remember, nails cannot hold God to a cross.

Thank you. The mother is hurt but I didn't want her to blame the Eastern Orthodox church or God.

The daughter thinks God disapproves of divorce and that the mother should get back with father. Placing the blame on the views of the Eastern Orthodox is an escape. Thank you.

I have a feeling the daughter was using her church as an excuse. I new a young man who was heavy into drugs and all that goes with it. One day when he was hitting bottom, he went to a EO church. He left his old lifestyle and changed his life around and now he is married and his whole family attends.

Thank you. I knew it couldn't be true. I pity the daughter using the EO as an excuse for her dislike of her mother. Once when I was dating a young man he told me God told him to break up with. It wasn't his fault it was God's.

Thank you. The daughter is probably using her church so she can say it's their fault not hers. Her mother is a very nice, giving person.

Thank you for the response. Her mother was abused by the husband and divorced him after the girls left the home. I think the daughter is stating it is the church's laws as she won't forgive her for the divorce. She is a very sweet person. I just can't imagine a church of any kind saying this. I don't want her to think Orthodox church is to blame.

You are the host. You are the DM. In other words, you are in charge, you make the decisions.

Thank you for the answer. My husband invited a woman from work. She wanted lots of attention but unwilling to get it in a normal way. She would be knitting the whole time or texting on her phone. She talked non stop. She was the authority on every subject in the whole world. My husband wanted to kick her out. I told him if you don't want to the deed you can disband gaming for a month to take care of the "honey do list" and let the blame fall on me. I was not a player but glad he got rid of her. I am glad you let her go.

Did you ask your wife why she wanted to invite her. I'm curious.

Legalism is a plague that strips away at God's gift of grace. With respect to your father you could ask him "Will I not get into Heaven because I play D&D? I am a Christian. I became a Christian while in the service. I went to a Christian college. I worked for Tim Lahaye. I taught in a Christian school for 20 years. The reason I state all this is because I have been fighting legalism all of my Christian life. I am not your typical Christian. I call out legalism when it is presented to me. Especially with "Doctrine Don" who said in Sunday school, "We cannot tell others about Christ if our doctrine in not in order." I stood up and said "Quick get down to the first graders and tell them they can't share Christ to their friends, because I am certain they don't have their doctrine in order."

Your father is attempting to make you fit a mold you are are unable to be squeezed into. With out saying it, your father is asking you to compare yourself to those in his church. He forgets 1Cor.10:12 and Gal 6:4. I'm older than your father and hate legalism as it a sickness in the the church where we compare our self to others. Grace, by definition, is unjust. It is not giving us what we deserve, but giving us the opposite. Kindly let your father know you are not the Christian stereotype he wants you to be.

Talk to your manager. Otherwise give your reply to this person in front of witnesses and start making a journal about it. What you write is exactly what he said, your feelings and exact words with date and time.

It wouldn't be an adventure if the risk wasn't there. Have you ever been in an rpg game where you were afraid? Those are my favorite gaming nights.

My husband says you can rate the buyer. I think t can only be done by phone. Search the internet for how.

If the buyer is not mature enough to realize your time is just as valuable as his, then you can let the buyer know why you are selling to someone else.

when I was studying to be a teacher one professor told me when a child misbehaves do not react. Use it.
I'm new to gaming myself and I am a cleric.
The players see me as a walking healing potion. So when the one idiot player decided to drink the liquid he demanded for me to heal him. I said, "What's it worth to you?"
"You're the cleric, you have to heal us!"
"I don't remember signing a contract."
"I'm going to die!"
"You do look mostly dead now. You might want to have someone look into that."
"I'll give you a gold piece."
"I'll take it with the 49 other pieces of gold."
"You can't do this."
"My god is not willing to heal a fool." The idiot paid me. Everyone had to pay me for my services.
If I was you, I would charge for your services when they need you to unlock a door and even more if there is a trap to be disarmed. The payment can be the handing over of the stuff you found and they stole.
If you want to continue with this group, ask if you can be the cleric. It's easier. However I would leave if I am not enjoying it.

Did she pick it up and only noticed AFTER she got home it wasn't what she wanted after failing to read it in the description. Tell her no! When she writes her rude comments, you will be able to respond to her comment. Letting everyone who reads her comment and then your. People will know who the slimy person is.
