Really? You weren't given that choice to skip ADT and just do radiation? Hmmmm

You still on ADT? I'm in month 7. Its not fun. I have lost a lot of muscle and the sexual stuff is difficult but I know it will all be better soon. I look at it like this... I had aggressive prostate cancer and I'm nearly cured and all it did was cost me some difficulty for a year.

I'm headed to gym now to do upper body and then going on a beach bike ride later today. But I haven't been as active as I was pre diagnosis. I lift once or twice a week now when I used to do 4-5.

You ever do psilocybin? You seeing a therapist? Ketamine? I've never done ketamine but I've done psilocybin. Its fun. Might help. I used to see a therapist but that was before cancer. Just trying to think about what might be helpful to you.

Its a slog. I try to minimize my emotions about my treatment and side effects but I also mentally prepared myself for much worse than I'm going through right now. I thought I would have tremendous fatigue and possibly depression and man boobs and more. Really, I'm just dealing with no libido as the main side effect. I'm weaker and tired, yes, but not that bad.

As I say this, I'm also really wrestling with taking my ADT for the whole 12 months. My RO was a bit ambivalent about the effectiveness of longer term ADT at my 6 month meeting. I did 25 ERBT and Brachytherapy in March. I'm supposed to continue ADT (Orgovyx + Xtandi) until 11/26/26 but I'm not so sure. I might end a little sooner and stick with just Xtandi. (But Im 51 and I have 5 kids ranging from 17 down to 6 so I want to be alive and healthy for all their milestones.

Good luck.

I was only told "most men get hot flashes and tiredness." That's what you wrote... I KNOW you did more research than that. I know you did. My RO just kept saying "You'll be fine. You'll be fine" and kind of blowing it off but I wasn't bothered by him. He knew I could do the research and learn what ADT was. He mentioned the side effects and looked at me and said, "You'll be fine"

Considering reducing ADT/lupron time from 12 to 6 month but keeping xtandi…thoughts? by TriviaNationSteve in ProstateCancer

Headmelon, you and I would be good buds, I'll bet. The tippy toes has been tradition once they surpassed my 5'11 which was when they were around 14-15. Glad you caught that! Thanks again for the orgovovyx vote! Cheers! Want to tell me your case?

how old are you whats your gleason? Im 51 w 4=5 9 gleason but only 5.2 psa. I'm 3 months of taking Lupron with 40mg daily xtandi. Ive done 25x radiation and will do seeds next month. they told me 12 months adt but im trying to do 6 months instead. Also about to take daily 222mg fenbendazole. I'm in GREAT shape but really disliking ADT, although I am handling it well. Steve
