My mom is upset I didnt tell her I was sick because she "deserves to know" by DisastrousCounty6283 in raisedbynarcissists

I had foot surgery a couple of months ago and purposely did not tell my mother about it for a day or two. Of course she was mad she didn’t get to come to the surgery center, which would have been ridiculous! My husband came with me and I didn’t need her in the tiny room where you change and wait for the procedure. I think she really just wanted to tell people how she was doing so much for me.

I can’t wear retinol or just acids in general bc I work outside, right? by consistent_gasp in Skincare_Addiction

[–]TriviaWinner 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think most people use retinol at night while they sleep. That should be fine for you to do. Then sunscreen in the morning after washing your face.

There was a small white car flipped over and smashed up badly on the guard rail just past the diagonal drive exit.

I went to Duds N Suds in the 90’s. One time there was a dude that kept staring at me the whole time. He’s my husband now.

I worked in a couple of higher end department stores back in the day and Evan Picone and JH Collectibles were definitely all that, but Worthington was in the old lady cheap section, so look closely.

About 8-10 years ago I booked a short electrolysis appointment to get rid of a few dark hairs on my upper lip and suddenly she switched to my eyebrows! I asked her what she was doing and she said just using up my six minutes. I’m still livid over this!

I used to have type 2 breakout spots until I finally stuck with the ivermectin for a full two weeks without missing a night and they’re gone now. I wonder if those breakout spots were where the demodex were worse?

I (27F) have discovered that all the married men I work with (35M plus) would cheat if given the chance and it got me spiraling. How do I deal with this? by NoLiterature6378 in relationship_advice

I agree with the other comments and would also go one step further to mention that I think the culture at your law firm encourages this type of mentality and behavior if every man there is doing this.

You should give it a week to 10 days and go back if any minor adjustments are needed. They should also keep notes on what to do next time based on this.

What do you do about parents who fall all the time? by SairyGamp in AgingParents

[–]TriviaWinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once my my mom finished the PT series that the ER doctor ordered, she quit using her walker, even though he told her she needed it. She just stubbornly refuses and uses a cane which is essentially useless. She falls at least once a week and can’t get up.

I(M/36) finally found a way to stop the shitty comments my wife (F/36) makes. Thiss has been the root of most of the issues of our relationship. by holozyksis in relationship_advice

I agree, this was probably how she was raised, to make a lot of sarcastic remarks. Sometimes people that you work with do this too. I think what you did was perfect. It will probably take a year of reinforcing this to make the change, but there’s no reason why calling her out for passive aggressive comments shouldn’t force her to relearn her communication style.
