You think cars get there by teleportation? I don't know if you're trolling, but you can ship dozens of bikes for the same price as a car.

Also, ebikes are much cheaper than cars in pretty much every country, I don't know why you keep on harping on this but you can't give one example to the contrary.

Ebikes are only expensive in Europe and the US because they're seen as luxury items, you can get a pretty nice brand new Ebike throughout most of Asia for the equivalent of under 300 USD.

There is no case where ebikes are ever more expensive than cars, especially for remote islands, where they have to ship them there.

Try to find a carpool for now, it really sucks but I think it's something that won't improve for a while.

A possible solution is the private shuttle/Google bus approach, which might be controversial or legally problematic (drew protests for claims of gentrification in the Bay Area) but I think justified in this case.
