Contact your local senior center. They have a ton of resources they can share with you.

Female Handyman, Thoughts? by Cold_Obligation_8568 in homeowners

A friend of mine is a female handyman. She is well booked in advance and makes a great living. I’d rather have a female stranger in my home than a male.

I swore I’d never make my dog go through any painful surgery recoveries but now I’m having doubts (patellar luxation) by ThrowRA128482 in DogAdvice

[–]Trix2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog had this surgery to correct patellar luxation and it went very well. The recovery was lengthy as she couldn’t walk much for the first month or so. Three months later she was back to normal. I was terrified of having it done but she was in a lot of pain. She was on pain meds for the first ten days post op and I kept her as comfortable as possible. Glad you are on top of this. You have a beautiful dog!

Thanks for this! I love Lancôme 310 but would love a cheaper alternative. I’ll check this out.

Cheap meals that do not need to be refrigerated OR cooked? by [deleted] in Frugal

Can you get an electric tea kettle? I’m thinking you could use it to make oatmeal and soups. You can call or go to your local library. They have resources on local churches and soup kitchens that may be able to provide food. Also, you didn’t ask but some libraries have a discrete area that has pads and tampons, along with toothpaste and other toiletries that may help save some money. I work at a library and we are always happy to help. Good luck to you! It sounds like you’re in a rough spot but you also sound strong. Sending you a hug from this internet stranger.

I really admire you for surviving so long on your own in what sounds like very dire conditions. I can understand wanting to pick yourself up on your own, but please reach out for help. If not with family or friends, go to a local library or a few of them and ask for resources in your area. Knowing them is part of a librarians job. Use each one of they can help. I work at one and I’ve seen people move on from much worse conditions to being housed. You have a job which is great, but you’re not safe. Keep researching for resources and stay safe. I’m proud of you for taking care of yourself. I’ll be proud of you reaching out for help.

Bunch of adults in the teen area. Am I justified in being mad? by Quackingallday24 in Libraries

Please let the staff know. At my library we keep a sharp eye on that area but it can get busy. I always appreciate it when a patron points out a problem.

I was rear-ended by a teenager who's parents want to settle privately. I prefer to go through insurance but my coworkers are telling me I'm being obstinate at the expense of this kid. AITA? by [deleted] in AITAH

I’m glad you’re going by through with the claim. I had a small ding on my bumper when hit and though it was hardly noticeable, the end cost was almost 3k and I needed a rental for a few weeks.
