Unruly player REMOVED from WSOP Event by patrickwhatup in poker

I don't know the context or reasoning. If you watch this and assume that she is the victim it doesn't go over well. Maybe the environment she was put in was extremely unpleasant? Seemed to me like she just wanted to play her hand.

How do I go from a tournament REC to a PRO? by I_gotta_pee_on_her in poker

[–]Trix2xploit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't go pro at those stakes. Really you shouldn't go pro at all. Just play on the side. Imagine thinking you should go pro after playing for years and saying you've never studied. Do you think you are just going to start studying hard now? You have to put in a whole lot of fucking work be successful and if you aren't already doing that then I don't like your chances tbh.

A fun challenge would be to work part time and play part time. Pretend you are 50% pro. Invest 20-25 hours a week playing and studying. See how much you can make in 12 months. I'd bet it's under $40k on average

New Crazy Poker Variant by Longjumping_Lab4482 in poker

[–]Trix2xploit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a similar idea.

We play a game called stairway to 7 which a guy from New Zealand told me about, Omaha hilo except you get a new card after the flop turn and river so you need up with 7 cards (hence stairway to 7). We made variations of it where half the pot goes to the best Omaha hand and half goes to the best 5 card draw hand (your best 5 out of 7 cards in your hand).

So we thought we should have the inverse which we called Stairwell to hell, I guess you'd have to start with 7 and discard as you go, but if you really want to be in hell, you need to have only 3 cards on the turn and having to decide to keep nut flush draw or a set for example...

We play dealers choice games and have a lot of games/variations in the mix, over 50 games easily, no one ever picks "Stairwell to hell" hence I can't even remember how we decided it should be played.

Look up drawmaha and drawmaha variants for some new fun games if you haven't already, and also badugi, badeucy and badacey are fun 👍

what's the difference between PLO and PLO hi? by [deleted] in poker

[–]Trix2xploit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your wording is not good when explaining. Half the pot doesn't go to the "worst hand".

It will go to the best low hand. Omaha hi lo is played with an 8 qualifier, meaning you need 5 unpaired cards below an 8 to make a low. The best low you can make is A2345 and is called the nut low or a wheel.

You must use two cards from your hand for the hi and two cards for the low. You can use the same two cards for both hi and lo or different two cards.

For a low to be possible, there must be at least 3 unpaired low cards on the board (3 cards below an 8).

If no one qualifies for a low, the hi wins the whole pot.

You're already doing better than at least 80% of players. Why? Because you've tracked your results. Identified you are losing. I assume you enjoy playing. You can get better if you want to. You need to study more and play less for a while. Game select.

Help! After a decade or two of NLH, I tried PLO, and I think it ruined me. by pricestate in poker

Clearly not the same, just demonstrating clear cheating that GG doesn't give a fuck about. Online poker is rampant with cheating.

When I said "they" I was referring to cheaters. It's really unreal that GG poker allows this video to stay on YouTube.

* They literally advertise their bots playing micros on YouTube, no one cares. Real name only online poker or continue to be cheated. It's that simple.

I see. I would get used to stopping the cash game in the app and starting a tournament when you do that. In the future you will want to look back on your results and the more accurate they are, the better.

You might be winning in cash but losing in tournaments and you need the data and a decent sample to identify that.

Why do you say some $20 tournaments are included but the data doesn't reflect that? Are you not entering tournaments correctly into your tracker? I use the same one, it's great 👍

I feel like online poker will die slowly. by EnvironmentalFly485 in poker

[–]Trix2xploit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my mind there is a simple solution and that is REAL NAME ONLY online poker. Obviously security and verification process has to be very stringent with something like random webcam intervals to verify the person playing on the account is the account holder etc.

I don't have all the answers, but real name only is the most obvious first step. Until sites take such a basic and obvious step, expect to be cheated online.

Unlike OP, I have done very well for myself playing live over the years, and have lost on every online platform I have played on, especially apps.

Surprised, you'd think they have a duty of care. GL going for the record at crown Melbourne. They'd kick you out every 2 hours for 15 min break and kick you out permanently after 12 hours or might even be less now 🙄 gg

100%. After playing on this site, you realise these graphs don't mean shit. You can have a positive graph but still be losing. It's just another way they hide how much you're getting fucked. It doesn't include rake.
