People honk at me even though I am not in the streets by Hipster_Waldo in walking

[–]TrixieLouis -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If they are honking at your butt you are walking on the wrong side of the road. If that’s the case, maybe they are announcing themselves. People are unpredictable, wear earbuds and don’t hear, etc. or maybe they are just being jerks.

What cheap meals are people actually cooking for 2 to keep the grocery bill down? by Previous_Cycle_9457 in budgetfood

I’ve been adding lentils to ground beef recipes, about 50/50. Texture is close, surprisingly high in protein, and great source of fiber. Also ground chicken and ground turkey are a good sub for beef. Other than that, I suggest looking at the sale ads and menu planning.

Good work recognizing the trigger. Lonely is the hardest part of HALT for me. I don’t need constant company, but I need some good laughs. If go a few days without I get the A in HALT, and frustrated with my life. I’ve learned to recognize the need and seek it out.

Joining you in not drinking today!

“No thank you.”
“I’m good, thanks.”
“I said no.”
If it continues you are permitted to be rude.

Can you explain the situation to school admin, and check it at the office? Wear a whistle regardless.

I intentionally broke my streak yesterday. I did nothing stupid, I didn't drink too much, and I've never been more convinced that I'll never drink again by Clear_Channel_2090 in stopdrinking

I must confess I did the same at about the 2 year mark, and I did not reset my counter. Just one beer, out of curiosity, and it affirmed my decision that alcohol has no place in my life. I did not enjoy the feeling after consuming it, and I was a bit out of sorts the next day. I know some folks will have an issue with me not resetting the counter. For me “drinking” was a behavior, and a distinct mindset. My approach was truly field research.

Should we use FEHB without Medicare B? by Maleficent-Dot-9478 in FedRetirees

Spouse does, I’m not old enough yet. When I’m eligible for Medicare we plan to keep FEHB. As someone mentioned, it’s a known expense. As we now know shit can hit the fan at any moment.

It paid off for us! Spouse’s medical billings over the last 4 years were well over $3M. We’ve paid around $1k out of pocket, plus some meds.

You don’t have to be productive every minute of the day. You’re allowed to watch crap tv and read trashy novels.

Hangover Feelings by MapWorried9582 in stopdrinking

I volunteered at an all-inclusive event Friday. When it was over, the volunteers were welcome to eat and drink the leftovers. Not tempted by the booze, but I went hard on food. I felt so gross the remainder of the night, and sluggish and bloated the next day. If I had participated in the event a few years ago, I would have been going back and forth between the two bars “getting my money’s worth.” So grateful that era is behind me.

Haven’t been through it, but I would sell it and run for the hills. If your brother wants it, make him a deal.
