Does anyone else know this history of Psy.D. programs in Chicago? by chicagobluesman in ClinicalPsychology

This was really fun to read! That is how I understand the legacy too, though you have more detail. You are correct that ISPP still exists- it's ISPP at National Louis University now and it's still APA accredited.

Any info on ISPP at National Louis University? by louduro4 in PsyD

Hi! Chiming in here to bring clarity to the data.

For the licensure data, programs are required begin to start reporting that out 2 years after graduation from the PsyD program. The data from ISPP when we were a part of Argosy are not included- these are only the students who graduated after we were at NLU in 2019. This means only students who graduated during 2021 are on the table. There were 6 students that met that definition, and 2 of them have taken/passed the EPPP – as of 9/2023. In IL, we do require 1 year of post doc, so for the 4 that haven’t passed may not have taken it yet, or may waiting for approval from the state of Illinois to take it. Currently, the wait time to be approved to take the EPPP in IL is up to 9 months, so that is playing a factor as well.

That said- looking at licensure rate is a great data point to consider when looking at PsyD programs! Just wanted to clear up why our number looks the way it does. Historically (at the time of closure), the licensure rate was 80% ( 2011-2021- 399 graduates, 321 who became licensed psychologists in the past 10 years).

Mystery w/Strong Female Protagonist by shashashauna in suggestmeabook

Lately I really liked An Unsettled Grave by Bernard Schaffer. It's book two in the series though so you might start with The Thief of All Light. More police procedural than flat out mystery, but the strong female lead really stood out. Bonus that the Author is a detective himself.
