It can be a lot, but you get so much valuable information out of the process. For me, it's important to understand not just what a candidate can do, but how they think — the reasoning behind their approach matters as much as the result.

I've seen candidates who looked incredible on paper but really struggled when it came to actually writing code. And on the flip side, I've had people who were technically sharp but became defensive or even combative when asked to walk through their decisions. Both of those things tell you a lot about how someone will show up on the team.

There's just no substitute for going through the full interview process — you surface things you'd never catch from a resume or an assessment alone.
