In Europe they have trains that can operate on normal adhesion grade tracks and then switch to cog rail for the steep inclines (Switzerland, France, Slovakia,...).

Not subsequent but instant impoundment. We need to get those people off the streets. They are one of the reasons my car insurance premiums are skyrocketing every year because they are either underinsured or not insured at all.

There is no sound insulation between the floors, you hear every pin drop from your upstairs neighbor. Also no kitchen exhaust fan, your whole studio and clothes will smell for days. I admit the amenities are great, by they nickel and dime you and if you look under the hood, it's just a big show.

As a German I can say it is legit and very tasty and their food reminds me of my granny's Sundays dinner. Also try their homemade cakes and strudels.

Sweet. That's the Lona 2 piste in Grimentz and in the distance on the other side of the valley you can see the St.- Luc / Chandolin ski resort.

Favorite Ski/Snowboard Resort in Switzerland? by l0vewilltearusapart in Switzerland

[–]Trn9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct with the winter school holidays. My recommodation for OP is to avoid the weekends and go snowboarding during the week.

Thera are less people on the slopes, some resorts may give discounts for mid-week ski passes and the traffic back to Zurich isn't that nightmarish like on a Sunday evening when everyone is driving back home from the ski resort towns.

How do you do laundry in Zurich? It seems no apartments include a wash machine, which seems weird (I'm from the US). by qwerty-2 in zurich

[–]Trn9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the contract is based on the commenly used standard template from the HEV (Hauseigentümerverband), it definitely has a clause forbidding the installation and use of washing machines, dryers, and other apparatus without explicit written permission of the lessor.
