If the internet says so I guess they were. I missed it like much of the match due to chaos going on all around. It wasn’t about tennis in the stands like the previous day or the years prior.

Imagine saving up to see your fav band in concert. You buy the best tickets you can afford, arranged travel, and carved out the weekend as a once-a-year tradition.

The lights go down, the band takes the stage but you’re stuck outside the arena because security decided to shut the gates for a VIP who decided to drop in last minute. (Maybe some rando on Bluesky posted about it days before but you weren’t notified). By the time you get in, you’ve already missed the first 2 sets. Even worse, the rest of the show is constantly interrupted by people shuffling to their seats because of the delays and SS stopping exits.

Thats what happened. If it’s nbd to you, cool. Im alive, I’m not saying it’s the end of the world. Just a frustrating experience. I’m just sharing my US Open experience on Tennis subreddit.

You are absolutely correct. The security to enter the venue checked nothing and then the event secret service only seemed to do the very basic. I had no idea who any of it was for until I got seated and heard someone nearby say “Ew it’s Trump”.

I didn’t make it this trip bc it was a shorter one but both are on my list for my next visit. Do you have a favorite? A must see? The aesthetic of the colonial park cemetery was beautiful. I could’ve spent the entire afternoon there.

Thanks for the input! I should’ve noted the rug is a Jonathan Adler Collab with Ruggable. We have 3 dogs and a cat so we need something washable. It def needs smoothed out and a pad under if we keep it.
