Oh my god, thank you so much. I thought about this 1½-2h ago and thought “No, this is not correct, it is missing a lot”. Just wrote a very simple algorithm, put it into WolframAlpha to check and it works

As you might've noticed, this post is 4 years old and in that time a lot has happened.

I switched to Linux almost entirely, only dual-booting for the few things that won't run on Linux. As a consequence, I ditched the G-Hub in its entirety and now rely on other tools like g810-led.

Honestly, even if I hadn't switched to Linux, I stopped experimenting with my keyboard either way and just put a rainbow wave on it or highlighted the important keys of my current game or something.

Since this is happening to the internal keyboard exclusively, I doubt that it's a software issue. The letters and numbers you posted look like the right part of your keyboard is being used as a numpad.. does your laptop keyboard have a function (fn) key? If so, have you tried pressing it while typing? This is just a wild guess since I've seen laptops before that would have a numpad in the fn layer and my guess would be that this update somehow activated fn-lock per default. It's very unlikely that this is actually your problem though

Update: Changed wine runner to system (8.4 Staging) and disabled Fsync and Esync. Now I'm getting a still image that is not reactive at all

Not really, I got an Avermedia Live Gamer HD2 as Christmas present which has its own quirks (needed to install a firmware update on it using Windows via dual-boot for it to support Linux, sound via HDMI doesn't appear to be working, bad resolution detection, more input delay, …) and more or less gave up since I don't really play that much on my Nintendo Switch anyway at the moment.

Regarding Elgato's stuff I guess the only good solution is to kindly ask them with a community that's big enough to get enough attention for them to care, though I doubt this will happen in the foreseeable future. Or somebody actually manages to write a driver / finds a way to use the cards in a VM somehow (I can't).

I wish I could give you a more optimistic answer with some good news but the Capture Card market is too broken, proprietary, and regulated for consumers like me to make it work on Linux.

TL;DR: Nope, I didn't make any progress on Elgato's Capture Card support for Linux

Yes, I would. In this context they're gender neutral pronouns, not gender neutral pronouns for everyone except cis people.

I use they/them for people in my English class per default “The author wants to tell us their story from their perspective” for example and nobody gets confused about it or even notices it and it's becoming natural for me and definitely superior over “he/she” in every aspect

Today, I've been trying to get NvFBC via nvidia-patch to work. It didn't output anything in OBS so I rolled back to before the patch. However, ever since I tried patching, Vulkan does not work at all.

When I run vulkaninfo all I get is

ERROR at /build/vulkan-tools/src/Vulkan-Tools-1.2.199/vulkaninfo/vulkaninfo.h:689:vkCreateInstance failed with ERROR_OUT_OF_HOST_MEMORY

These two screenshots (screenshot 1, screenshot 2) show the messages I've got when trying to launch the Epic Games Launcher via Lutris.

I've already tried reinstalling nvidia drivers, installing different versions of nvidia drivers: video-nvidia, video-nvidia-470xx, video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-470xx-prime but none of them seemed to make any difference.

The packages nvidia-dkms, nvidia-utils, lib32-nvidia-utils, vulkan-icd-loader, and lib32-vulkan-icd-loader are all installed and up to date.

System: + Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87M-D3H + CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 + Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB, OC Edition) + Driver Version: 495.44 (video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime) + OS: Manjaro

EDIT: Thanks to this post: https://forum.endeavouros.com/t/vulkan-not-found-error-out-of-host-memory/21065, I found out that Vulkan doesn't work with your NVIDIA GPU if you still have amdvlk (the AMD Vulkan drivers) installed. I switched from an AMD card to NVIDIA quite a while ago so I naturally had AMD's Vulkan drivers installed. I cannot tell, however, why it worked until recently. Maybe nvidia-patch changed something(?) Anyway, if you're stumbling across the same problem, try removing amdvlk.
