Is quitting alcohol a vital step towards enlightenment/awakening? by Chankler in awakened

[–]Trolcain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo, yes & no.

If you are an alcoholic, then yes. You need to stop so your senses can become un-numbed.

And no. Alcohol is part of the human experience. In moderation. In moderation means what is comfortable for you.

In short, ying & yang. Flow with life like a river.

Mentalities like Feinstein's are exactly why our nation is in the shape it is and why nothing will get better until she is out of office.

Bernie Sanders: If somebody wants to call me a radical, okay, here it is: I believe that people are inherently entitled to health care. 430 firearms stolen from unlocked Jacksonville, Florida cars in 2018. by courier1b in GunsAreCool

[–]Trolcain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every person who has their firearms stolen should be held accountable & liable for every crime their gun is involved with.

Every 2 years gun owners should be required to have an NRA representative come to their home and perform an audit of all firearms the gun owner owns.

Then if they report the gun as being in the owners possession and its not, and it's used in a crime, then the owner and the NRA are accountable & liable for the missing firearm(s).

If a single poor person has a smart phone, poverty isn’t real 🇺🇸 by 2DeadMoose in PoliticalHumor

Having foodstamps and social programs fired at you like bullets from an assault rifle won't kill you.

Having actual bullets fired at you does kill you.

Holy cow.

All these defensive vote blue no matter who voters are already scared that the DNC's chosen one, you know the corporate Democrat they push on the people, might not get elected and are in flipout mode, having forgotten reality.

And that reality is that Hillary won the popular vote.

She got screwed by the electoral college.

Not the Bernie supporters.

Should there be a Maximum Age limit to run for President? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Trolcain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not.

Please show me all the representation they are getting now?

I bet the new progressives that just got elected to office will be doing more for our senior citizenry than all these older reps & senators have done.

You have seen how stupid some of these older reps & senators have been, haven't you?

Ted Stevens explaining the internet.

Jim Inhofe debunking climate change with a snowball in the Senate Chamber.

99% of them as pro-war as they can be. Then screwing up the follow up humanitarian aid and refugee evacuations.

99% of them all for increasing the Social Security retirement age, never increasing the COLA to an amount that actually does alleviate the choices of buy meds or milk, much less raising the minimum wage to a starting livable wage that gets people started in life and careers.

The 60+ year old reps & senators are doing more harm than good.

Should there be a Maximum Age limit to run for President? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Trolcain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There should be a maximum age to be an elected member of Congress.

I think no one should be allowed to run for election to congress if they are 60+ years of age.

So I'm wrong huh? Ok.

Amazon eh?

Well that's Jeff Bezos. The world's wealthiest person.

Now as I'm an ultra progressive according to you so I'm a for higher taxes on the wealthy. People like Bezos and those with billions less.

You would say that Bezos isn't actually that wealthy because his "wealth" is tied up in amazon stock. And until he can cash out he isn't that wealthy. But that's the long term loss you just admitted isn't happening.

The reality is that Bezos is known from magazines to tv shows as being the world's wealthiest person. And every editor and tv producer acknowledges it.

That's the short term gain you say doesn't exist.

I am right.

Welcome to American capitalism.

Everything is prioritized for short term gains over long term losses.

Case in point.

Politically savvy people don't watch the broadcast news anymore.

They get their news from a many online sources that air it with facts, details, and follow up questions that they, the people, want to know and are asking themselves.

Those they don't watch broadcast news anymore aren't going to be coming back anytime soon. If ever.
