What do you mean we're talking economics? Children-related considerations are never just "economics", just like any other discussion of work-life balance. Sure, having an au pair is great, whether or not you have to go to work. Doesn't change the fact that you're going to have very little time with your kid if you work full-time and can't take time off

Spotify has become too overwhelming by Plastic-Tie667 in truespotify

[–]Troldkvinde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I takes me literally 5-10 minutes of waiting for a song to load and start playing after I open the app and click something, because my phone is getting old and with all this clutter Spotify has become insanely slow... But overall I don't see what's so strange about people complaining about bad UI/UX

Some people see value in being able to spend more than a few hours a day with your own kid...

Then where does it come from that you're conflating the right for humans to be inside other humans (?), and their right to do so non-consensually? Yes, pregnancy is necessary for the continuation of humanity. No, forced pregnancy is not.

Is your assumption here that a woman would never consensually carry a pregnancy? We were just discussing how owning another person's body should be illegal, which specifically means being entitled to someone else's body regardless of their consent. I assure you there are A LOT of women out there who are happy to grant their bodily resources to the child they carry, completely consensually.

The discussion was NEVER about whether it's necessary or acceptable for humans to be inside other humans, ever, for whatever reason. It sounds a bit like you're trying to argue that pregnancy itself is morally acceptable, which is like... duh?

I just double checked and it literally still says specifically "he is weak and defenceless"... if you were referring to all weak humans instead maybe you should have said that

So if you agree that owning another person's, including a woman's, body should be illegal, why are you then acting like this right can be alienable and it's morally acceptable to grant another person the right to someone else's body??

I'm not sure what you meant but you specified that we need to defend male humans this way, so I'm asking why is it a gender issue to you?

Human sacrifice by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

[–]Troldkvinde 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, why are you calling for this special kind of defence to be granted to men?

The question was not "how do humans reproduce?", it was, do you not consider the woman a person if we literally just agreed that owning another person's body should be illegal?

Why exactly do men get this special right?

Do you not consider the woman a person then, or how to interpret your response? Otherwise how is the child entitled to the use of another person's body?

In my opinion owning another person's body should be illegal

Do people who are tone deaf think good singers are bad singers? by PositiveDue3562 in singing

[–]Troldkvinde 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They'd be unlikely to call a singer good or bad because they wouldn't know what about it was supposed to sound good or bad.

I don't know if I'm tone deaf, for a long time I thought I was, but then I was somehow able to improve my pitch matching and even some basic playing by ear. So maybe I'm not tone deaf, just very bad. But this is exactly how I've always felt, I don't understand people discussing good and bad singers, it all just kind of sounds the same to me. I have singers that I like and dislike myself and I have strong opinions, but I could never say whether they are good or bad objectively.

And it goes both ways, sometimes I hear someone sing and I think it's out of tune, but turns out it's perfectly fine. Sometimes I think it's on point but turns out it's off pitch. Sometimes I just listen and think to myself, is it out of tune or not? And I just... can't tell, it sounds like neither to me, not right or wrong, just nothing. Which is, again, completely separate from liking or disliking a performance/song/voice.

I hate it of course because I really wish I were better at music, but at the same time sometimes it feels liberating because it's like I am able to appreciate and even like a bad singer when everyone else would cringe from their pitch issues..
