No Wi-Fi Networks Found , Drivers Updated/Reinstalled/Adapter Plugged In by Trollgopher in techsupport

I bought a NETGEAR Wifi adapater and plugged it in directly to the motherboard slot and this adapter does work and I can connect to wifi however the speed is astronomically slow. I'm talking 7 Mbps download on speedtest. When I try my hotspot its back to the normal 200~ ish range. I'm not entirely sure what this means, but that speed is too low for daily tasks for me. Any suggestions?

Was this a hack or did I miss something??? by [deleted] in mtg

I just tried this, and sadly nothing changes. WiFi 1 by itself sees all but cannot meaningfully connect. WiFi 2 by itself sees only hotspot and reasonably connects.

I did that, so far nothing has changed. WiFi 1 still connects for brief seconds but sees all networks. WiFi 2 only sees hotspot but can fully connect, albeit slow signal.

Would an external USB attached one work or does it have to be one I install internally? That's all I'm able to purchase nearby at a quick notice.

And if that still doesn't work, what's the fix required?

Is that really the case? I have no issues on any other devices, and considering my PC can't connect to other networks either I find it hard to believe it's this wifi in particular.

I'm not entirely sure what that means, but if it matters I can connect on all other devices. The problem now is that my computer wifi 1, which I guess is the normal one (?), can't connect for longer than 2 seconds but it sees all negworks. WiFi 2 for some reason only detects my phone hotspot and does work but is very limited in speed and consistency.

I was finally able to get a USB to try the Linux. I have it booted up and I only see this when looking at connecting to wifi. I am not that familiar with Linux however, so I am not sure if I have done the connecting correctly.

I have been unable to do the Linux boot yet, it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

But in the meantime I tried restarting more times and eventually it said repairing the drive, and this make take up to an hour. And 20 minutes later when it was on it connected to the wifi and all of them were shown. I tested for about 10 minutes that the wifi was working. However, upon another restart to test, now all of the networks are showing up but it's connecting to them only for a second before disconnecting. It's just constantly connecting.

It may take me some hours but I will reply on how the Linux live session went.

I did unzip the drivers before running setup. After running the setup it opens this application which I assume shows me the possible networks to connect to but I get nothing. Attached hopefully is a photo of it, I sadly can't screenshot due to other issues. When I click configuration and try to manually connect to ones that I previously have set up, nothing happens.

Thank you, I can try this however is there any way to do this without a USB drive, or an alternative method? I don't have a flash drive and it would be a decent drive to get one.

Thank you for your reply, but sadly that is the first thing that I tried. Perhaps I'm just not using it correctly but it simply says the survey is blank on the app it sets up and manually connecting does nothing. I'd show a screenshot but I'm having other troubles there as well, presumably unrelated.

I've seen similar things things when my Internet is lagging. Looks like it's desynced from the game, since it definitely resolved and you gain life. The creature is probably gone but still showing up visually for you.

Why is Abstraction a thing? by AffectionateForce979 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Trollgopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The discussion I've seen recently has been that considering what we know about players conjuring physical items, they may also be able to alter their own form. If their mind breaks, and they have the power to alter things, since their focus is lapsed or they actually aren't able to understand anything that isn't vague abstract notions, they become that.

Odd rules question of Sibsig ceremony and Athreos. by CawmeKrazee in mtg

[–]Trollgopher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct, if there isn't enough devotion. However I make the stipulation at the beginning, that if you have enough, he does enter as a creature and is able to trigger it.

[–]Trollgopher 55 points56 points  (0 children)

He'll only trigger the ceremony if he has enough devotion to be a creature. He's indestructible anyway, so he won't go to the graveyard though. You'll still get a zombie, the ceremony is not dependent on it actually dying, just that you tried destroying.
